VIDEO: Giattino LIED that Jabbour held "education committee" meeting about "redevelopment" with Academy
The video clip of council hyenas pouncing on Emily Jabbour during New Business is posted below. But before you watch it, it's helpful to understand why council members want to dirty-up Emily Jabbour, why they want the public to believe that she and Bhalla are in cahoots with Academy Bus Lines to build a residential skyscraper in SW Hoboken.
It's not that hard to figure out; the facts are hiding in plain sight. It is clear which politicians have an active, financial interest in this development moving forward and which ones do not. And that is one reason why the pro-development Ho's on the council are blowing so much smoke at Emily and the Administration. All you've gotta do is...

And that is one reason why the pro-development Ho's on the council are blowing so much smoke at Emily and the Administration. All you've gotta do is...
Yes, indeed.
The two biggest pro-develoment HO's on the Council-- Ruben Ramos and Mike DeFusco-- will jump in the sack with ANY developer bearing cash contributions. And Jen Giattino, Tiffanie Fisher and Peter Cunningham are in the sack with Ramos and DeFusco. (That explains their silence on Ruben's theft of a hospital board seat: they're working the Dark Side of the street .)
Therefore, contribution trails from Academy to Ramos and DeFusco are no surprise at all. In fact, Academy's Vice President of Real Estate, David Lehmkuhl, admitted to Councilwoman Jabbour that Academy's proposal had the councilmen's support. And ELEC reports in the public domain show that both Ramos and DeFusco have been sucking Academy cash like two rabid vacuum cleaners.
- Ruben has received $800 in individual donations from Lehmkuhl in 2018 for his re-election next year.
- In 2017, DeFusco received $2,600 from LehmKuhl's "Hudson River Corp" -- and the same entity gave $1,000 to DeFusco's slate.
- Academy did not throw financial support to Bhalla and his slate... they followed the Ho's.
So, why did they pounce on Emily?
Sources tell GA that the Ho's (Ramos, DeFusco) and the NO's (Giattino, Fisher, Cunningham) will be running a slate in 2019. Campaign 2019 has started early. The orchestrated attack on Emily looks like a ham-fisted effort to muddy Jabbour and Bhalla, to cover for the fact that they are canoodling with Academy, and taking campaign contributions. Sources also tell GA that Ruben promised Giattino that she won't have to spend her own money this time. So, where's it coming from?
Please Academy, send Ruben a check so he can pay his phone bill!

GIATTINO LIES THAT JABBOUR HELD AN EDUCATION SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING
Apparently prior to the Council meeting, David Lemkuhl, who Giattino knows well from his appearances at the City Council had sent her an email informing her about the meeting in Dr. office, and had included drawings. (The drawings Giattino had been showing 4th Ward residents, lying that the mayor and Jabbour were planning a massive tower in SW Hoboken.)
So... during in New Business, Giattino asked Emily Jabbour to "update" the Council on the Education Subcommittee meeting she had with "somebody" from Academy and School Superintendent Dr. Johnson. Giattino knew there was no Education Subcommittee meeting with Academy and Dr. Johnson, she knew it was Dr. Johnson's meeting in Dr. Johnson's office at Dr. Johnson's invitation. Here is what she said:

Giattino knew there was no Education Subcommittee meeting with Academy and Dr. Johnson, she knew it was Dr. Johnson's meeting in Dr. Johnson's office at Dr. Johnson's invitation. Here is what she said:
"I received an email from… I don’t know his name, but somebody from Academy telling me he had met with uh, the Educational Committee and Dr. Johnson about development in … redevelopment... and John Allen… about redevelopment in the Southwest. He actually said... the redev, uh, amending the southwest redevelopment plan…. He sent drawings if you’d like to update us on that. Are you the chair? Or Vanessa are you the chair?"
Got that? LIAR. Lehmkuhl was the "somebody from Academy" at the meeting. That explains why Vanessa Falco (who sits on the Education Subcommittee) was so pissed off ... she had been mislead to believe that Emily had left her out of an alleged "Education Subcommittee" meeting with Academy and Dr. Johnson.
HYENAS ATTACK COUNCILWOMAN JABBOUR
Well to be fair, it's possible 4th Place Jenn didn't remember the name of the person who sent the email. I just mean, just watch her ramble and stumble over her words trying to remember what to say to try and make Emily look bad. It's blatantly obvious she isn't smart. In fact, one might say she's "DeRETARDo" (thanks Roman Brice for the term).
ReplyDeleteSaid it before and I'll say it again, these attacks on Emily aren't just to muddy the waters for the election, it's because 4th Place Jenn is JEALOUS that Emily is educated and smart, while she's just an uneducated ballerina who couldn't get into college. This is literally TRUE, that's 4th Place's backstory.
DeRetardo was wrong when Roman said it and worse when he denied it. It's not better now. C'mon man.
DeleteMinus the unkind biographical stuff, Lifer has a point about deep personal animus being a factor in Giattino's poor treatment of Jabbour. 2 years ago, Giattino would have given Emily a hug, and said "Welcome, aboard!" She would have worked with her, not against her. Losing this election has either changed people I thought I knew, or revealed who they always were. Who knows. Honestly, don't care until it impacts governing Hoboken. And it certainly has.
DeleteTotally agree that governance is what matters - not who hates who and why. The side show at the council meeting is an embarrassment, but more importantly it's a distraction. The bigger issue is the attempt to toss out the existing low density SW redevelopment plan put forward by Mayor Zimmer (and passed unanimously by the City Council), and replace it with Academy's massive high density project. If Hoboken needs a new public school building, we can get it without destroying the SW neighborhood and flooding the SW with even.more rushhour traffic.
DeleteSuckering Dr. Johnson into this just demonstrates how low these money hungry these already wealthy micreants are.
Mayor Bhalla - when you get back from vacation please put a fork in this and let Dr. Johnson know there are better ways to get a new school building - letting Academy and their councik shills use you as as a shiny object/political prop is not the way.
roman should not be using the term retarto and neither should anyone else. but the comparison and comments about people's family status is very sexist. he shouldn't do it and the commenters shouldn't do it either. isn't the owner of this blog single now too? knock off all the sexist talk about who's married and not and their families.
DeleteAnon @1:56-- No one here has discussed family status, not sure where you got that from. I made a point yesterday of saying that I don't want anyone's sex life discussed. Nor family life. Kids are taboo. But appreciate that you shared your thoughts and have a Merry Christmas.
DeleteAH to even imagine that DeDumbo & RepublicanJen give a crap about Hoboken let alone what happens in the 4th Ward! So who is going to stop them? Ramos? Mello?? Pffft....
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. Tried to take a shot at Roman Brice there for being a piece of garbage and it came across poorly. My mistake.
ReplyDeleteThis meant to be above in reply to DangCatFish - my fault.
DeleteI tend to write off what he does as desperation. I'm appalled by people like Fisher who lack the social responsibility to stop promoting their political agenda there. But with her latest incredibly irresponsible call for mob action against private citizens, she shows herself to be no better than her host. But she's an elected offical. He's a blogger.
DeleteSuckering the school superintendent into a scheme to screw the SW with an out of scale development is despicable. Any elected official with a role in this should be tossed out of office.
ReplyDeleteThe honest elected officials need to stand up and put a fork in this. I know I personally will do everything I can to end the political careers of anybody who tries to use the public schools as a little shiny object to foist this development on the SW.
So Hola wants a new building?
DeleteHa! I'd love to see HoLa vacate 123 Jefferson-- the building they robbed from the Boys and Girls Club (with the blessing of the City of Hoboken). You want a discussion about the power of white privilege we can start right there... and draw a straight line to the "unelectable" whisper campaign run against Hoboken' s first Sikh candidate for mayor, questioning the "qualifications" of an African American 8-year senior level employee for a promotion to lead Hoboken's Department of Community Affairs, and being the only "no" vote to appoint a Hispanic woman to lead Environmental Services WITHOUT EXPLANATION.
DeleteClever way the B&G Club got ousted: they jacked up fees from $15/year to $75/month. For some kids, the only hot meal they got was prepared in a kitchen by a B&G staffer. The B&G was booted from using the kitchen, and the kids went from eating chicken and rice to Rice Krispy Treats for dinner. I kid you not. And HoLa hired the former B&G staffer probably to keep her mouth shut. Now you tell me: how the hell can kids whose parents arent feeding them properly AFFORD $75/ month. I wrote about this a long time ago. I heard the Hoboken Reporter wanted to follow up, but were apparently stopped. Funny how that happens? More funny stuff: Carmelo Garcia's wife who works for HoLa was concurrently appointed to be the Director of the B&G Club. So, a lot of folks in a lot of (high) places within and without Hoboken had a hand in making the B&G Club unaffordable and inaccessible to poor kids, which emptied 123 Jefferson pretty fast, gave HoLa their building and the City of Hoboken bragging rights to a Dual Language Charter School, filled with a white, affluent majority.

DeleteIt is REALLY REALLY far from the brownstones to go ALL THE WAY to the oh so scary Fourth Ward, but the horse drawn carriages could possibly make the trip...Or removing those pesky bike lanes so they can have room for a revitalized concord jet might work for them or even better private charter buses supplied by, yup Academy.

So, if anyone wants to discuss the power of white privilege: from driving out a charity that keeps poor kids fed and off the street in exchange for a jazzy Dual Language School populated by an affluent white majority, to a Councilwoman that QUIETLY campaigned that a Sikh mayor was "unelectable," publicly questioned the "qualifications" of an 8 year senior employee, an African American, to merit promotion, and many other example, lets have it.
A FOX GUARDING THE HEN HOUSE ?
ReplyDelete"I chair the South West Redevelopment committee" - First Ward Councilman DeFusco when recently advocating in front of the Jersey City Zoning Board for a 13 story residential building in the Fourth Ward for the wealthy, politically connected developer. The building goes against everything that the South West Redevelopment Plan was created to protect. Yet Mr. DeFusco who has had a difficult time showing up for Hoboken ZBA meetings he is required to attend show up in Jersey City.
Could it be that the developer is the Chair of the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce and his endorsement could send campaign donations his way when he seeks to stay in office this year. Could it be that showing Mayor Fulop that he is a team player willing to put Jersey City interests ahead of Hoboken's could bring an endorsement and political help over the border his way ?
Will First Ward Councilman DeFusco come out and publicly support the Academy Bus plan to make a massive profit with an even more massive development that would cripple and gridlock not only the Fourth Ward but all of Hoboken. If the campaign donations continue come his way DeFusco will sing it's praises.
So what about Fourth Ward Councilman Ramos ? He new about the 13 story block wide building on Harrison Street and did nothing. If Councilwoman Giatinno knew about the Academy Bus proposal in the Fourth Ward, I find it hard to believe that as a long time friend of the family and someone who was given large political donations by them was not aware of the plan in his Ward.
So what elected official is looking out for the best interests Hoboken's Fourth Ward ?
Anybody ? Nobody ?
There has been a lot of understandable focus during Ravi's first year on UDD and recently Monarch as well. This is a great opportunity for Mayor Bhalla to show he cares as much about the western side of the City as he cares about the Northeast.
Delete"I have not seen the LATEST iteration of the plans" - Ruben Ramos
ReplyDeleteWhat plans Academy Bus development plans did he see ? TRANSPARENCY
Shouldn't the Fourth Ward Councilman been transparent about the Academy Bus development plans he had previously seen ? It would have been important to know that plans wear being discussed with him he that would substantially and negatively change the character and livability of the Ward he was elected to represent were shared with the public.
