Hoboken Dems ask DeGise & Hudco Freeloaders to cancel ICE contract

Ivanka DeGise mum on Daddy's $35M contract to execute Trump's criminalization of asylum-seekers.

Don't say I didn't warn you!  Cause I did. 

Hudson County Democratic Organization leader Ivanka DeGise has turned out to be as gutless and impotent as her D.C. namesake.

Just like her D.C. doppelganger, Ivanka DeGise billed herself as a "progressive Democrat." But when push came to shove, both Ivankas meekly rolled over for Daddies' criminalization of asylum seekers.  D.C. Ivanka was quiet as a corpse as Daddy kidnapped babies then deported their moms; Ivanka DeGise hasn't uttered a peep for or against her Daddy's big bucks contract to store ICE detainees in a Kearny jail.

Let's face it, those Ivankas are window dressing; the Daddies are in charge. (Told you.) 

You know, asylum-seekers are not criminals.  My own family came to America as Jewish asylum-seekers from Europe. True, they were treated like crap on Ellis Island (our family name butchered) but at least they weren't locked up in  Kearny.

Yes, DeGise's silence (on the Freeloaders' July vote to renew Hudson County's $35M contract to jail ICE detainees) is deafening.  What kind of  Party leadership is that?  In a place as ethnically and culturally diverse and Democratic as Hudson County, with it's huge immigrant population, HudCo's Dem Party leader has no opinion? 

That's why GA is proud to be a Hoboken Democrat. Because Hoboken Dems are not under the spell of Hudson County bosses (except maybe... oh, never mind). 

Hoboken Dems will not be silent when our Dem leaders make immoral choices. We will not support the anti- immigrant  Trump Doctrine with its punitive treatment of asylum-seekers. 

Hoboken Dems speak for the human dignity of our brothers and sisters wherever they come from. 

Thank you, Hoboken Democrats for not being silent. 

CHUTZPAH: FREELOADERS AWARD THEMSELVES A PAY RAISE

And another thing...  At the same July meeting that the Freeloaders renewed the ICE contract- they awarded themselves a 2.5 percent pay increase.   

"The freeholder chair's salary is rising from $46,774 to $47,943, the vice chair's pay will jump from $45,754 to $46,898 and the other seven members' pay will go from $43,714 to $44,807. The freeholder position is a part-time gig. Most of the current nine members have full-time jobs. All nine are Democrats." 

Freeholder Chair Anthony Vainieri Jr., who represents North Bergen, voted in favor of the pay increases and alluded to the ICE controversy when reached by phone on Monday.

"For what I'm getting put through, they should double my salary," Vainieri told The Jersey Journal.

Oh, Mr. Vainieri, things could be much worse. You could be an asylum-seeker fleeing a death squad in your home country, have the U.S.government welcome you by kidnapping your kids then losing track of them, throw you in a Kearny jail to rot for an indefinite period of time when you don't know anybody in this country nor do you speak the language.  Most likely no one visits you.  Ever.

Wouldn't that be a little worse than "what you're getting put through?"

 Maybe just a little.
