Facebook-blocking crybaby DeFusco whines that City Hall is "exclusionary"

What's funnier than a Whiny DeFusco press release attacking City Hall for being "exclusionary"?

This is funnier: the Whiny DeFusco press release links a Facebook exchange that can only be read by members of the public whom Councilman DeFusco has not excluded by BLOCKING!  How's that's for "exclusionary?"

C'mon, that is hysterical.

DeFusco's tantrum over alleged City Hall "exclusion" highlights the unconstitutional "exclusion" of members of the public from his social media accounts (via "blocking").

Bwaaa haw haw.  Like Trump, raging narcissist DeFusco grants sycophants, donors, and the uncritical unfettered access to his social media, but beware to all who challenge him on any policy position, issue or statement he's ever made:  BOOM...

...OFF with their access to his Twitter and Facebook accounts.

You know, many Hoboken residents have complained out loud that Defusco has blocked them from his Facebook and Twitter accounts-- and not because they're trolls, but because they dared to dissent with his Royal Highness.   Either DeFusco doesn't have the intellectual firepower to debate or he's more thin-skinned than an axolotl.   Maybe both.  Whatever it is, it's unconstitutional.  Even Steve Fulop, respected the NY District Court's ruling that public officials cannot block Twitter and Facebook!

DEFUSCO'S FACEBOOK HYSTERIA
So, what's all the fuss about? Some kind folks sent me screen caps of the Facebook exchange between the Councilman and the City.   Here:

GA could go on (and on) about the manufactured outrage of this self-righteous, self-appointed LGBT ambassador who was never seen (nor heard) at any City event honoring the LGBT community or advocating for LGBT civil rights until after he was elected to the City Council in November 2015.

Can anyone spot him in this June 2015 flag-raising honoring the Supreme Court's passage of gay marriage?

What about this marriage Equality rally on Hoboken's Pier A in 2011? Anybody see Mike DeFusco there?

Neither do I.

It's kinda gross how DeFusco exploits the LGBT community  to take cheap shots at the Bhalla administration, like his recent resolution at the City Council calling for Mayor Bhalla to provide more services for the LGBTQ Community (which died quietly after its vapidity was called out here).

And when push comes to shove, DeFusco has demonstrated that (excluding photo-ops) he's not there for Hoboken's LGBT community.  Remember recently the mayor appointed Warren Hall, an openly gay priest, to Hoboken's Rent leveling Board?

DeFusco was SILENT when Father Warren Hall's appointment to  the Rent Leveling Board (RLB) was  pulled from the council agenda.  Father Hall was denied the dignity of a vote, and DeFusco said nothing

DeFusco DEMOTED openly gay Father Hall to an Alternate seat on the RLB board when he was eminently qualified to serve in a full seat.

DeFusco was SILENT when the openly gay Father Hall withdrew his application to the RLB because he was made uncomfortable by the Council's political chicanery.

Yeah, DeFusco is some LGBT role model for HobokenWhat do you think, my gay brothers and sisters?

Well, well, well.  Look who was "shocked and offended" by the City's response to DeFusco's tantrum:

Oh, I beg to differ with the Councilwoman. The previous mayor, Dawn Zimmer, did not suffer fools. Nor did the previous head of communications.

Nor does the Bhalla administration.

In fact, it is particularly nasty of Fisher to impugn the professionalism of a man's brother;  I might even call it tragic.  Though not as tragic as running a whisper campaign that the first Sikh running for Hoboken mayor was "unelectable." That was tragic. Was it unintentional? It certainly was the wrong message for our community.

But please, DeFusco and Fisher: keep pandering to whomever you think is buying what you're selling.

  1. Kudos to youknowz! Guess whose idea it was to have Tippy #TheStorm Councilbabe wait 10 minutes and then say “she was debating” whether to respond? #45 in your programs and #1 in your hearts, baby!!!!

The 10 minute pause and the self “debate” tell (really dumb) people she isn’t just pouncing on every chance to shriek at Crooked Bhallary. People tell me it’s REALLY working!

Normally we don’t go near LGBT stuff at Horse and (3) Friends. Nothing about gay pride day, marriage equality, blah, blah, blah. Thank you, NO. Those issues don’t exactly play with my evangelical friends.

But when we can use gay junk to promote anti-immigration policies or flog Crooked Bhallary — well color me rainbow! And that goes for my LGBT-indifferent alt-right pals Tippy and Yappy: #TheStorm twins!

  2. “Inclusivity is more than just a buzz word or an easy way to grab a headline,” DeFusco said, while endeavoring to use "inclusivity" as a buzz word to grab a headline.

    1. In the grand scheme of things, the only people who care what Mike thinks are the people who are paid to care. I can't imagine anyone else gives 2 shits.

      As for Mike's specific complaints:
      1. The city constantly does events like this during weekdays. Deal with it. You want to attend that bad - use a vacation day.
      2. The city regularly doesn't give city council members an opportunity to hijack these events for their own political gain. If you don't like it, tough. It ain't all about you Mike and the fact that you want to make it about you is exactly why you were not invited.
      3. You are an absolutely dreadful public speaker. When I hear you speak, I sense the collective IQ in the room dropping more and more the longer you speak. Don't be surprised folks don't invite you to speak publicly.
      4. And last but not least, you are a hypocrite. Unblock your social media detractors already if you want folks to take you seriously on inclusiveness. You not only do not welcome inclusiveness, you don't respect the first amendment and are actually in violation of the constitution by blocking people (at least according to the courts). Not that you care.

  4. At key points in the fight for LGBTQ civil rights in New Jersey, particularly under Christie's blanket threats to veto anything resembling marriage equality, DeFusco was widely seen as a beer-guzzling party-hardy social climber and political opportunist, with little to say on the subject.
