LIE #1: The "idea" for Monday's LGBT flag raising came from the Mayor's Office. It was not "brought" there by Councilman DeFusco.
LIE #2: "I... was not even invited to attend."
Um... sure he was. All members of the City Council were invited.
Do you get the picture?
The event was not "Gay Councilman Day" nor "Mike DeFusco is Gay Day."
The City celebrated everyone's gay pride. The event was about the City's unconditional support for LGBT civil rights, and respect every LGBT Hoboken resident. It was all positive. That is...

I noted yesterday how DeFusco was not seen or heard from at any public LGBT event until he was elected to the City Council in November 2015. Not a peep from him at the Hoboken rallies and celebrations for Marriage equality in 2011 and 2013.
Nor did DeFusco open his mouth last Februaryto defend the gay priest, Father Warren Hall, whose application for Hoboken's Rent Leveling Board was denied a vote, pulled off the City Council agenda, demoted to "Alternate" and ultimately, withdrawn!
What a disgusting spectacle. GA was shocked at the way the Mayor's appointees to the Rent Leveling Board were treated by the anti-Bhalla council faction: Mike DeFusco, Giattino, Fisher, Cunningham and Ramos.
GA is reminded of this appalling behavior by Councilman DeFusco's making a stink over not speaking at the LGBT flag raising. Where was that voice last February when an outstanding member of the community, Father Hall, was denied a vote on his appointment to Hoboken's Rent Leveling Board? Here is the story:
Well, once he puts out that 5 Alarm Blaze on his pants, Councilman DeFusco can reflect upon his selfish behavior.
No, he wasn't there. But the courageous Sgt. Major Jennifer Long, was- she's a transgender veteran who served in Afghanistan. Long was personally invited to the flag raising by Mayor Bhalla. As were other local LBGT activists. Funny, DeFusco didn't mention a word about them.
So not only did he lie, Tiffany knew he lied and still posted in support of him. Or is she going to pretend she never saw his comment that "he wasn't invited" and use that as her excuse?
ReplyDeleteThe thing that bothers me most about this is that he's been nothing but a jerk to Ravi for the last two years, and then is mad when he's not given special treatment. You got invited. Stop making everything about yourself. You have to give a little respect to earn a little. Dawn made the right call in backing Ravi. Tiffany and Mike are acting like a bunch of babies. Just do your job and work to advance the city instead of engaging in petty, phony, self righteous, egotistical crap.

DeleteGay implies political awareness. Homosexual is just about sex. Until he thought it might help him politically, no one knew he was gay, not even those who served on boards with him. When he trotted out the gay card, he had to import gay people from parts unknown, maybe Kearny?, as there weren't enough in Hoboken, and the ones that were here, didn't necessarily support him. And now he's trying to get his council colleagues to adopt the standards set forth by the Human Rights Campaign Fund, which has lost all respect in the gay community.
DeleteNo one gives a shit if he's gay or straight, and no one in the administration should feel as though he's the go-to guy for all things gay in Hoboken. What we his constituents care about are qualities we want in any elected official: honesty, integrity and competence.
On those last three qualities, he is 0 for 3.
