Giatttino campaign paid for oppo-research on...?

OPPO-RESEARCHER HIRED
Here is another surprise GA found on the Giattino Joint Committee's 11-20-17 ELEC report: a disbursement of $3,500 to an opposition research firm!

Now, oppo-research firms are often used in political campaigns- even in Hoboken. Former Councilwoman Beth Mason was notorious for her oppo research against opponents- which her political operatives broke as "news" on Hoboken411.com.

So, what is oppo-research, exactly?

Oppo-research is glorified dirt-digging. Nothing is sacred; court records, credit history, professional resume, military service, bankruptcies, foreclosures, divorces, affairs, child support payments, illegitimate children...

Anybody remember the notorious "Deadbeat Dad" oppo-smear launched against mayoral candidate Peter Cammarano?  Bajardi email exhibits revealed that Beth Mason operatives had mysteriously obtained family court records which they broke in a ghost-written expose on their "favorite website".

So, what's the big deal about the Giattino campaign hiring an opposition research firm?

(1) Well, its unusual.  Zimmer's Reform (now Bhalla's) have not used opposition research firms or opposition research consultants on their campaigns.  They don't want to.

(2) 2017 Reform Resistors continue to blame Bhalla for "nasty" mailers, or as some have put it: "turning on a friend." Well...

Friends don't hire dirt-diggers against other friends.

So, who was the subject of the dig, and where's the dirt?

TUNGSTEN LLC MYSTERY
Yes, it's the dead zone between Christmas and New Year's. Lot of folks are on vacation.

Well, this little ELEC reporting mystery isn't going away.

$73.9K was wired to an LLC (Tungsten) with a residential address in Washington D.C. for "campaign consulting." The resident is on the MAGA Trump Committee, employed by the Republican National Committee.  The actual Tungsten LLC address that is listed on a D.C. business database traces to a business consulting company called Sentrana. Sentrana doesn't do campaign consulting.

On Facebook, Giattino campaign Chair Tiffanie Fisher called Tungsten LLC "the progressive company that provided campaign consulting and canvassing services to Jen’s campaign. We’ve learned after inquiry that it was established a few years ago at the home address of one of the principles. He no longer lives at that address."

Oh, so the campaign wired $73.9K to the wrong address?  WHO was this money wired to?

And for what exactly?

According to their ELECs, the Giattino campaign paid a campaign manager, and a communications consultant. They paid for printing.  They paid for video.  They paid campaign workers.

So what did Tungsten LLC do for $73.9K? That's a lot of money just for canvassing.

Further, Tungsten LLC didn't poll.

It behooves the campaign to clear this up.

Campaign donors have a right to know.  So does the public.
