UPDATE: Giattino, DeFusco 20-Day Post Election reports AWOL

UPDATE:
A source who contacted ELEC earlier today on the status of the Giattino and DeFusco 20 Day Post-election reports that they have not received either.
________________

Hoboken political observers know that (very) late ELECs- or not filing at all- is right out of the "Old Guard" play book.

This blog has been hammering Dark Siders for AWOL ELECs for years- just search this site with keywords "late elec."

Poor ole Tim O. got blasted time and time again by yours truly, for example, Timmy Misses April ELEC Deadline for 2015.

Tim takes the cake

I repeat: GA's been busting Dark Side politicians for late, missing and sleazy ELEC filings for years.

This is the first time in my years of hammering Dark Side ELEC deadline violators that I've ever had to badger a "Reform" campaign.  Yes.  Because we are the pro-transparency, good government nerds who follow the letter of the law.

A very late ELEC from the sleazy DeFusco is no surprise.  From a Reform candidate it is.

GA sent the following message to Giattino Campaign Treasurer David Dening, via Facebook messenger, yesterday morning:

Hi Dave. I have been hitting DeFusco on his late ELEC filing and not your campaign. I know you to be a straightforward, honest guy.  But now I have to ask, on the record:
1) When are you/did you file your 20-day post elec report?
2) why is it so late?
Thanks.

No reply, so far.

Just imagine the howling if Mayor-elect Ravi Bhalla had not complied with state election law.  And the resistance buzzards picked who over his ELEC carcass are silent now.  (Maybe too busy plotting to boot Brian Assadourian off the NHSA? )

Even Anthony "Stick" Romano filed his ELEC reports on time.

So did DeFusco Team candidate, Michael Flett, who gets props for filing a timely 20-day Post-Election report.

So, why are the Giattino and DeFusco ELECs so late?

Still waiting for the answer.

  1. Still wrapping my head around the idea that this is the only blog that bothers with ELECs anymore.

    1. Well one blog only covers rumors and the other sour grapes.

  2. The Hoboken Reporter story indicated that the reporter received emailed copies of the ELEC reports that the Giattino and DeFusco campaigns claimed had been filed. If those claims are true, then we should see this reports up on the ELEC website by Tuesday at the latest.

The HR got an awful lot wrong so if these reports actually show up I look forward to GA's analysis.

    1. Why so late? Right before the holidays when folks tune out.

    2. For the same reason companies and the government always send "bad" news out late on Fridays especially during holiday weeks. Easier to hide things when you send stuff out when nobody is paying attention.

    3. Hudson County View didn't get the Giattino and DeFusco ELECs- I just checked.

I wonder if the Giant "Reform Resistance" Arse got them? He published Ravi's entire report, not a peep on this 3-week lateness. I've boycotted that dump, so if the Giattino or DeFusco ELECs go up, I'll have to check Hell to see if it froze over.

    4. They're both running articles on Campos being sentenced. This follows the pattern of being more interested in the Ghost of Corruption Past than anything happening now, ie, Fisher making nice with Defusco and Ramos to forge a new anti-reform block and thus downplaying past complaints about Defusco's financial sources. Where they think they can, they will continue to argue that Bhalla = Campos, Cammarano, etc. Until Fisher gives them new instructions.
