Ex-Hoboken Councilwoman Mason (still) stuffing Sweeney's turkey

Hudson County View at Atlantic City's League of Municipalities: Mason hosts Sweeney celebration

Veterans of recent Hoboken elections have noticed the absence of Mason money in the Mile Square's 2017 General Election.

Wealthy, two-term 2nd Ward Councilwoman Beth Mason was rumored to have polled in July, perhaps considering a 3rd mayoral run after her arch-nemesis, Dawn Zimmer, dropped out of the race.

She never got in, nor endorsed a candidate.

Nor has her name has turned up (yet) on a Hoboken ELEC, and there's no evidence of any in-kind donations, such as use of her 1200 Washington Street address (which is currently occupied by her non-profit, the Mason Civic League, and her business entity,  Newton Lao Leonard and Locke.)

1200 Washington Street

So, whatever happened to the politically-ambitious ex-Councilwoman?

She flew south! South Jersey (LD-3),  that is.

Hudson County View has reported that the former Hoboken Councilwoman  hosted a celebration (again)  for Legislative District 3's Senator Stephen Sweeney at Atlantic City's League of Municipalities"
Holy shit. Is Sweeney worth it?  Is anyone

In fact, Mason did more than just celebrate; she opened her wallet and $18,500 fell out!

Sweeney Super-PAC,  New Jerseyans for a Better Tomorrow

Now, $18,500 is nothing to shake a stick at.  But that donation pales by comparison to the $40,000 that fell out of Mason's wallet in 2015- to the same Super-PAC, New Jerseyans for a Better Tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving

Back then, Sweeney was expected to run in the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary, opposed to Steve Fulop, but you know what happened...

Wonder what it cost Beth Mason to "host" this celebration?  Boy, if only GA had friends like that.

GA heard that Mason's "business partner" James Barracato "worked the door" at the event with Fernando Uribe.

Well, a big thanks to John Heinis for his always-excellent reporting and interviews.
