Thin-skinned HHA Commissioner DELETES what he can't answer on Facebook (then BLOCKS)

Here's what happened. This morning, I read draw-dropping Facebook commentary by a Hoboken Housing Authority official. My immediate reaction was to reply; mine was the first comment. When I went back to correct a word ("fingerprint" was supposed to be "fingerpoint") my comment was gone. ZAP!  Then so was I!

As you can see on his above Facebook post, HHA Commissioner, Andrew Impastato, cited "disgusting building conditions" with a litany of tired political attacks-- seeming to blame "disgusting building conditions" with a "distracted" City Hall. Then acting unilaterally without consent or coordination with fellow HHA board members, Impastato "invited" the mayor to tour the HHA with him to "sit down and find solutions."

Frankly, the crassness and ignorance on display here is astounding.

Does HHA Commissioner Impastato know that the Hoboken Housing Authority answers to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which is a federal agency, and not City Hall?

Does HHA Commissioner know that City Hall has no operational or management control over the HHA?

Does HHA Commissioner Impastato know that his board has oversight authority on the maintenance and management of the "disgusting building conditions" in Hoboken's Housing Authority? HHA Bylaws clearly explain that HHA Commissioner Impastato and his board select vendors and contractors to keep the buildings from being "disgusting":

"All independent contractors, professionals, bidders, or others who may have a contractual relationship with the Authority shall have that contractual relationship established only pursuant to selection by, and resolution of, the Board of Commissioners."

So, rather than blame the municipality for "disgusting building conditions" in HUD buildings,  perhaps  "disgusting building conditions" are an indictment of the Commissioner's own poor performance, and failure to find solutions with those that have the legal standing to improve the quality of life for residents?

Which is basically what I wrote on Facebook.  Maybe not as nicely.

Still, appointed officials who steer federal tax dollars into the maintenance, management and upkeep of HUD's Hoboken Housing Authority complex would best serve themselves by answering the public's questions, rather than deleting and blocking like a petulant child.  This tells me he had no good answers.
