Hoboken is in shock at the sudden, unexpected passing of much loved HPD Sargeant Peter "Peachy" Zanin.  Sgt. Zanin, a son of Hoboken, will live on in the hearts of his Hoboken police family and friends, and neighbors (like me) who never met him personally but have seen that kind face and shock of red hair on duty and on YouTube, reading to quarantined children.  Sgt. Zanin was taken, quite literally in the prime of his life; a husband and a dad to three young kids.

Whether you knew him or not, every Hoboken resident owes the Sargeant a debt of gratitude for his service, his charity, for risking his own personal safety for all of us every day.

Folks may pay their respects to Sgt. Zanin and offer their condolences today; his Funeral Mass is tomorrow.

Hoboken Patch has posted the details:

"The Funeral Mass will be offered this Monday at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Hoboken. My sincerest condolences to Sgt. Zanin's family, his HPD family, and all of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
