A Tale of Two Votes

Last night at the Hoboken City Council meeting...

VOTE #1
Ordinance to abolish Office of Constituent Services

VOTE # 2
Resolution for Council members to switch from their 'platinum' Rolls Royce Health Insurance Plan to the State Health Plan- same as Mayor Bhalla and his Directors take- for a 28% taxpayer cost savings. Council members using City benefits:  Tiffanie Fisher, Mike DeFusco, Ruben Ramos and Michael Russo at a total taxpayer cost of approx.$118,000/year.

That's all you need to know about the character of this new-old  "majority."

  1. I'm not sure what the rationale is for offering parti-time elected officials health insurance benefits, but that has to end. How do we make that happen?

Has Anthony Russo repaid the city for what he owes after it was discovered he was still on the city's health plan, long after he was out of office?

It was great to hear DeFusco called out during the public portion on his total disrespect for the mayor and staff in city hall, which is something he's done for years. Yet he thinks he has what it takes to be mayor.

  2. What is Russo wearing? Perhaps he's in The Sound of Music after the meeting ends. Or is he trying out for a yodeling job right after the meeting?
