  1. Why did Trump initiate a task force 3 weeks after the virus was announced? Why was he the
1st leader to enact a travel travel ban? Why did he wipe away Obama rules that prevented the private sector from producing test kits that failed miserably? Why did Trump also undo Obama rules that prevented the private sector for finding a vaccine? Why do we have both Governor's from the largest Democratic states NY and Cal praising his actions? Why is that 250 Americans have died, but 3,500 have died in Europe which has the similar healthcare and population? We did he declare a National Emergency in 2 1/2 months with a few dead, while Obama waited 6 six months and 1,000 died during Swine Flu? To date Biden who called Trump a xenophobe for his travel ban and is still against it? Think about how many more would be dead if Biden was President and Obama time line and rules were still in place?

    6. If most of the US were as heavily dependent on mass transit as NYC is, we would easily have as many deaths and hospitals as swamped as those in Europe. The virus is just going to spread more slowly here because we already are more socially separated just based on our geographic dispersion relative to a lot of countries and simple fact that we are a car driven society. Now that isn't the case for the NYC area which helps explain why NYC is the hardest hit area by far.

  2. Why is the US so far behind other countries with testing?
Experts say it’s due to cuts in federal funding for public health and problems with early testing.

Problems with public health infrastructure Two years ago, the CDC stopped funding epidemic prevention activities in 39 countries, including China. This happened because the Trump administration refused to allocate money to a program that started during the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

Former CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden warned that move “would significantly increase the chance an epidemic will spread without our knowledge and endanger lives in our country and around the world.”
