Hoboken Business Administrator Stephen Marks needs a lint brush- Punxatwney Mike is shedding! |
It is with sadness that GA announces the departure of Hoboken Business Administrator Stephen Marks. No, he's not dead, he's going to work in Kearny (same thing.) Oh, I kid!
Thank you Director Marks for your good work, professionalism and even-handed treatment of all Council members despite how badly some treated you these past two years. You never once raised your voice at that obnoxious council member as he berated you. Nope, you sat calmly, Zen-like. Earplugs? I'll bet Kearny council meetings are much less... um, warlike.
Anyhow, all the best to you.
But you know, that obnoxious council member is boo-hooing crocodile tears over your departure on Hudson County View- even praising you as a "professional respected across the state!" Imagine that.
"1st Ward Councilman Mike DeFusco was a bit less kind in his reaction to the news of Marks’ departure, calling the move “alarming” in light of the preliminary budget’s current woes... “The sudden resignation of a long-time business administrator as the City deals with a multi-million dollar budget deficit is alarming. Director Marks is a professional respected across the state and it’s unfortunate the mayor has consistently taken a spend now, worry later approach to put the state of our finances in jeopardy,” he said."
So, the obnoxious councilman who used to bully the Hoboken B.A. is now "alarmed" at his departure. Folks, get used to it. Punxatawney Mike saw his shadow. Four more years of his public relations shit storm.
Oh yes, the City of Hoboken spokesman responded. As reported on Hudson County View:
City spokesman Vijay Chaudhuri expressed great dissatisfaction with DeFusco’s remarks, calling on him to do his job instead of playing politics.“8 of the 9 Hoboken councilmembers are working collaboratively together with the administration to enact a responsible budget. We encourage Councilman DeFusco to press pause on his political ambitions and work with the Mayor and his colleagues on the Council,” Chaudhuri said.
“Instead of failing to show up for half of the council meetings in 2020 while vacationing in Hawaii, and paying a public relations firm to send out his press releases, we hope the councilman simply does his job by showing up to meetings which include matters of importance to the budget. We look forward to his constructive feedback."
Don't hold your breath, Vijay. Punxatawney Mike saw his shadow.
Speaking of press releases... will we ever find out what happened to the City of Hoboken's Pay-to-Play complaint?

We have been waiting for four years for any kind of constructive feedback from DeFusco and don't expect that to change.
ReplyDeleteCatlin M, MDF's paid Vision Media apologist and political attack operative already out trying to clean up after their boy made yet another a nasty mess on line.
DeleteWell, I certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone the right to earn a living, but it does beg the question: why doesn't DeFusco write his own stuff? He's only a ward Councilman so why does he need so much help? Could it be he's too dim-witted to string together his own thoughts? I don't know. Seems likely. Do any other council members require so much help to do their job?
DeleteThrowing shade on a City employee by alluding to economic mismanagement on the part of a city business administrator as he leaves Hoboken for another municipality is actionable.
ReplyDeleteTortious interference is serious.
And he's correct, Marks is widely respected throughout the State. Something DeFuckup will never be. Hell, Mikey's even reviled in city hall by everyone, right down to the custodial staff. And if he ever becomes mayor through the usual nefarious means, the people who hate him now may still be there, and civil service protections will mean he can't fire them and they can make every day of his so-called life a living hell, just by doing their jobs.
He really should be re-called for doing nothing but attacking the administration and missing countless meetings.
