SCOOP: "Mike DeFusco for Hoboken Mayor" FUNDRAISER on March 10!

You can't make this sh*t up!

A mere 4 months after a very expensive re-election victory, First Ward Councilman Michael DeFusco is deceiving constituents with the ruse of  "celebrating all we have accomplished together..."  by covertly soliciting donations to his unannounced  "Michael DeFusco for Hoboken Mayor" campaign!

What balls!

Yep. Here's the scam:  one week ago, DeFusco emailed his constituents the usual litany of miracles that he's accomplished thanks to all that "new energy." However, this dispatch was a bit different.  Instead of a sprinkling of anti-administration bile, this one was awash in vendetta-drenched Trumpian delusion, complete with a  political enemies list of city employees - whom be blamed for Hoboken's looming budget crisis.

I kid you not!

Last night, delusional, lying madman Donald Trump blamed Monday and Tuesday's total 2000 point drop in the Dow on the Democratic Presidential debate (the Tuesday debate started 4 hours after the Dow closed.) Last week, Michael DeFusco's screed "BUDGET CRISIS IN HOBOKEN" blamed  City Hall employees:

"Mayor Bhalla has placed Hoboken’s day to day operations almost entirely in the hands of his political operatives, all of whom were connected to his 2017 campaign, while claiming he downsized his office size... We cannot look the other way as this administration continually hands out lucrative jobs to political allies instead of prioritizing good and transparent local government.

Right, Assistant BA Jason Freeman and Assistant Corporation Counsel John Allen get paid $14,000,000 plus overtime. Sure.

But you know, like Trump-World, DeFusco-World expunges inconvenient facts; he censors his social media.  Like Trump, his Hoboken doppelganger lies to his flock; the councilman's dumbed-down screed omits the factual causation of Hoboken's looming crisis, which include pension plan increases (+$600k), rising health insurance costs (+$1.5M) and union contract settlement costs (6 unions, +$3.5M) with diminishing revenues from parking (-$600K), municipal court (-$400K) and building permits (-"thousands of dollars").  Like Trump, DeFusco is cruel; brandishing pending layoffs of good people as a tool in his campaign arsenal.

Oh, and forget about loyalty. Here's how he threw his Council colleagues under the bus:

"..it appears as though my colleagues are following the mayor’s lead to fill the budget deficit with parking revenue and all of the above passed 5-4 with myself in dissent."

Nice! But I digress... The subject of this post is The Big Lie:

At the very bottom of the newsletter, he announces his  "I'll  be hosting my first fundraiser of the year... to celebrate all that we have accomplished together."   Clicking on the donation link is the only way you will discover that your money is going to "Mike DeFusco for Hoboken Mayor."

Now ask yourself, where's the transparency?

Why didn't he say "Ill  be hosting my first fundraiser of the year my 2021 mayoral campaign"?

Why not announce his candidacy if he's shaking a tin cup for loot?

Why trick people into believing that they are helping their councilman continue his council work, and not vacate his seat?

That's exactly what he's doing. All those expensive PAC-funded mailers in 2019 were to fool you-all into believing he wanted to take care of First Ward residents for the next four years.  Fact: he has barely begun his second term in office and he's already running for mayor on your dime and hiding it from all of you

Ironic that Mike DeFusco is the LEAST TRANSPARENT of any elected official in Hoboken.  That he would LIE-BY-Omission of the tact that he wants your money to vacate his First Ward seat.

I wonder if DeFusco's First Ward voters will feel like the schmucks he made of you.  Okay,  I'll say it: I told you so.

Raising money for a campaign he has NOT filed with NJ-ELEC.

Lastly, whatever happened to this:

  1. Trump blamed it on the Cornovirus, but said the Democratic debate debacle and Bernie's rise had some influence.

    1. The stock market closed at 4pm. The market was already down 2000 points. The Dem debate was at 8pm. Do you and Trump believe in time travel? Thanks for the off-topic comment. Please don't hijack this post with your Trump love! 😍

  4. It's illegal to raise money for an account when ELEC hasn't been notified. He needs to open a mayoral account.

    1. Legal schmegal.

DeFusco's dark money contributors don't care about ELEC law violations. For them, indictments are a right of passage and having a fall guy do time is just part of their game. No, their attituded when it comes to complying with the law is always "make me". As GA pointed out, he's Trumpian that way, and in the way he lies and takes credit for anything positive which he had nothing to do with.

    2. Given who some believe -probably- orchestrated the midnight flyer, Mikey was more than likely told by his bosses to let it go.
