Another Santa-sham crimewave

HO-HO-not.

Yesterday thousands of twenty-something Santas converged upon Hoboken with empty toy bags. Maybe they didn't read the event promoter's invitation to "bring new toys or donations to help a child in need this holiday season," or that the annual bar crawl was billed as a "charity event for the local community."

Or maybe they did read it, but spent their needy-kid toy budget on a $32 ticket to get shit-faced and "run wild through the streets."  Because instead of buying toys, these swarms of red-and-white locusts padded the pockets of event promoters in order to "take over Hoboken again.

Can we start calling this yearly invasion a  Santa-crimewave?

Thank G-d, Hoboken has the hardest-working, best police department under the superb leadership of Chief Ken Ferrante, who always gives the public a blow-by-blow before, during and after each "con" crime-wave on Twitter.

Chief also cited a litany of others who contributed to protecting residents during Sant-sham, including Union City Police Chief Nichelle Luster, Hoboken's volunteer EMS, civilian radio dispatchers and call takers, and of course his officers, commanders and supervisors. Ferrante also thanked Mayor Bhalla, who showed up at police headquarters to give the Hoboken and Union City police his support.

BLAME THE EVENT PROMOTERS
To be fair, the Santas were only following orders. Because the online promoters sanctioned the crimewave-- a logical consequence of what they were selling. See verbatim how this event was promoted online:

There are a lot of things wrong here.

So, the event promoter is advertising their Santa-sham crimewave as a "charity event." Are they suggesting that their earnings are tax-exempt charitable donations"?  Are taxpayers underwriting Santa-sham?  Hoboken taxpayers already underwrite associated overtime costs to 'host' these crimewaves.

Possibly the worst aspect is the "top producer of Santacon related events in the nation" is promising a deliverable of "thousands of Santas and inebriated elves running wild in the streets..."  What is the definition of disorderly conduct?  'Cause thousands of inebriated elves running wild in the streets sounds like disroderly conduct and a threat to public safety.  That is the deliverable.

So, now that we know what this "top producer" is selling, what is the City of Hoboken gonna do about it?

Enough talk. The event promoter has put in writing they are selling chaos on our streets. Helloooo?
