RUBEN RAMOS PAYS WORKERS $1,603 FOR LIT DROPS BUT DOESN'T REPORT PAYING FOR LIT
Fourth ward People have been sending me Ruben Ramos lit, so I know he's been sending mailers, and getting lit dropped off. Here is what someone sent yesterday:
Which is curious. Because Ramos' 11 Day-Pre-election ELEC reports disbursements totaling $1,603 for individual staff for lit distribution, but nothing for the mailers and lit which have been coming steadily to 4th Ward residents since September 16, 2019 when Ramos paid Vision Media $2,505 for mailers.
And another thing... a $773 expense on campaign t-shirts?
GA's heard stories about past elections; campaigns who give campaign t-shirts and 40 bucks to Fourth ward residents who become paid "campaign workers," in exchange for walking around with the campaign shirt on and voting at the polls (or by mail).
$773 buys a lot of t-shirts.
JEN GIATTINO PAYS $5,248 FOR 3 MAILERS?
Last reporting period (29-Day Pre-election) Jen Giattino paid Vision Media $4,151 for "walk cards." I've seen these. Giattino's 11-Day Pre-Election report adds $5,248 to Vision Media for "Mailers/consulting."
Um... see below the 3 full-color mailers I've received recently. If the $5,248 were spent only on mailers, that would be at an average cost of $1,749 each for design, printing, postage in a ward with 4,000 registered voters.
That's quite a bargain. There is nothing wrong with the costs being underwritten by others, but that needs to be reported. And, it's worth noting that Giattino is on record accepting a $1,500 gift from a Nick Sacco ally, which she later converted to an "in-kind contribution" (the full timeline is here.) So, if her campaign costs are being underwritten, we should expect to find the rest reported on her next ELEC.
MICHAEL DeFUSCO RACKS UP MORE LOCAL P2P VIOLATIONS
If Hoboken's Pay-to-Play compliance officer can keep up, we can assume the new batch of local P2P ordinance violations (see above) will be added to this:
City of Hoboken OPRA # 19-2... by GrafixAvenger on Scribd
City of Hoboken OPRA # 19-2... by GrafixAvenger on Scribd
Because of timing, not much attention has been given to the ramifications of having a Hoboken Pay-to-Play complaint adjudicated on it's merits (probable cause) by the Chief Judge of Hudson County Superior Court, Peter Bariso.
What this means is the courts are going to determine whether or not our local ordinance is "enforceable." If Bariso throws it out, that's our answer. Then it's back to the drawing board.
So Ruben is getting the office space at the Hoboken Business Center for free? How did that happen? Also who doubled his rent at his office on Jefferson Street? It was $500 - now it is $1000. How can he handle should an increase?
ReplyDeleteRamos gets free office space, but still pays himself to campaign from home his home address. Wow. That's brass balls in the face of increased ELEC scrutiny. BankRobber - the rent is too damn high! I thought he was working to increase affordability in Hoboken, meanwhile he's raising rent on himself! The audacity...
ReplyDelete@GA- the cost of running campaigns just keeps going up up up! It's especially troublesome when you won't commit to running honest campaigns, abide by Hoboken's P2P laws and need somewhere to put your PAC / Union / special-interest payments, err. donations.
