UPDATED: P2P compliance officer's LIST of non-compliant Candidates

UPDATE
GA has confirmed that Tim Crowell turned in his 11-Day Pre-Election report on October 25th, so his name should not have appeared as non-compliant.

An updated list will be published here later- if it's updated, that is.

Got that? Crowell is INNOCENT.  Peter Cunningham, on the other hand is not doing his candidate any favors.
_______________

In spite of Jen Giattino, Michael DeFusco, Tiffanie Fisher, Ruben Ramos and Peter Cunningham voting to table Pay-to-Play Enforcement Legislation THREE times, it appears the City has forged ahead in enforcing our local ordinance.
On January 2, 2019, the Council unanimously created a Pay-to-Play Compliance officer position, filled by Assistant Corporation Counsel Alyssa L. Bongiovanni.

Ms. Bongiovanni has put teeth in her enforcement role.

On October 21, her findings of Pay-to-Play violations were turned over to the City Clerk, who filed a complaint against Michael DeFusco.  The complaint is now sitting in Hudson County Superior Court Chief Judge Peter Bariso's chambers.  If Bariso finds probable cause, DeFusco will be prosecuted in a Hudson County municipal court.  The penalties for Pay-to-play violations in Hoboken's ordinance are no joke. First, the excess amount of money must be refunded to each respective donor, and a penalty of 4 times the amount of the refund imposed on the candidate; the money paid to the City of Hoboken.

So behold, the list of non-compliant candidates (and those who are fully compliant). Can you guess who's who?

  1. Thanks for this info, GA. If Crowell, Fisher, DeFusco, Giattino, Maganuco, Ramos & Russo are willing to flout these laws, which should be a no-brainer, they cannot be trusted with being the legislative branch of local government. Not only are they scofflaws, but they’re really dumb too. They need to be voted out.

    1. For the record, I've confirmed that Crowell handed in his 11-Day Pre-Election Report on October 25. I'll post the updated list.

As a side note, I have asked Tim to please reign in his endorser, Peter Cunningham, who made a series of false and defamatory allegations against Phil of CRIMES which, if factual, would result in disbarment. Serious stuff. The smear campaign on Phil has crossed the line, and in Tim's name. Not doing Crowell any favors.

  2. As an attorney, though they have D students in law school too, Cunningham should know better. If Phil doesn't win, he should sue Cunningham for libel.

Peter Cunningham is one of those who convinced Giattino to register as a Democrat and then vote Republican, just as he does. This explains a lot of their actions on council, confirmed by the things they've been overheard saying in public, where Peter and spouse were waxing on about the current POTUS. Can we stop pretending that local elections are non-partisan?

Can't wait for Cunningham to fade into irrelevancy so we don't have to receive any of his emailed screeds, full of yesterday's news.

    1. When did Cunningham get his law degree?

    2. I don't think he's an attorney, but he should still know better than to libel one.
