How very exciting! Four dynamic Hoboken residents of Indian ancestry have formed a non-profit organization, Namaste Hoboken, to educate the wider Hoboken community about Indian culture, while engaging our local Indian community in a series of events and programs to preserve Indian culture and traditions.
The founders of Namaste Hoboken say it best:
"A large and growing number of Indian families have come to call Hoboken their home since the 1970s and each of the founders believes that it is time for the Indian-American community to become more active and make sure we are recognized as an integral part of Hoboken with the ability to add further depth to our community’s social fabric."
Namaste Hoboken has hit the ground running with a website, a Facebook page and their first event, Diwali Hoboken, at 1-4pm on Saturday, October 26 at The Antique Loft ,33 Newark Street (see invitation above.)
Read their press release, lots more information about these wonderful founders and Namaste Hoboken!
GA note: Namaste Hoboken not a political organization. Leave your politics at the door, please.
