Hoboken P2P Compliance Officer: Cricco-Powell did NOT "violate pay-to-play ordinance"

"I understand that there has been an allegation of a pay to play violation regarding a $500 donation to both a joint committee and candidate committee by the same committee. I have reviewed this matter, and conclude that there is no violation of Hoboken’s pay to play regulations. According to our interpretation, both a candidate and candidate committee can accept a donation within the $500 limit delineated in Hoboken city code section 20D-4(A). Based on the fact that there is no violation, the law department will not be requesting that a complaint be issued in this matter."
-Alyssa Bongiovanni, Hoboken's Pay to Play Compliance Officer
October 28, 2019

On January 2, 2019, the Hoboken City Council unanimously (9-0) voted to appoint a "Pay-to-Play" Compliance Officer for the City of Hoboken. Yes, Jen Giattino voted for this appointment.

So then why didn't Giattino consult Hoboken's Pay-to-Play Officer first before lobbing a false  allegation that her 6th Ward opponent, Cristin Cricco-Powell, violated Hoboken's Pay-to-Play law?

The Councilwoman's false allegation was based upon donations made to Cristin's individual campaign account and the Team Bhalla account.  That is fully compliant with Hoboken's ordinance; I thought so, from reading the ordinance myself.

But if the councilwoman had any doubt, why wouldn't she do due diligence prior to accusing her opponent in both an email blast and publication on a local Trumper's web site?

Yeah, it's silly season. Unfortunately, now Cricco-Powell's got to live with the false accusation of breaking local law online in perpetuity, thanks to Giattino and her sycophantic Trump-luvin'  blogger.

Team Bhalla peeps don't break the law. And you know, if Jen Giattino really cared about Pay-to-Play enforcement, then she would not have tabled Pay-to-Play enforcement THREE TIMES.

  1. Giattino is not smart, educated or educable. Her remarks, no doubt guided by Vision Excredia, are libelous and actionable because until Cricco-Powell wins the election, she is still a private citizen.

The petulant princess who refuses to pass the updated pay to play ordinance and her corrupt cohort on council, DeFusco, have zero credibility to speak about anyone else's campaign contributions.

Less than one week out, and we can expect more of same from these regressive candidates and their pimps: midnight fliers, blatant lies, misinformation, in other words, the usual crap.
