2nd Ward incumbent Tiffanie Fisher's political operatives are "campaigning" for Fisher on Hudson County View by belittling Nora's social status, attacking her and her husband's teaching jobs, her credentials to teach, her Jersey Journal cooking column.

This is all with Fisher's consent, or else it would stop.
Fisher could ask John Heinis to take them down, or better yet, post a statement under her own name admonishing her campaign operatives that belittling Nora's working class status is irrelevant to representing the Second Ward.
But she hasn't. And she won't.
Fisher, who tooted the "Bhalla is unelectable" dog whistle in 2017, is allowing her campaign operatives to diminish Nora a non-millionaire, working class teacher-of art! Of children! The nerve, thinking that she can represent us.
Hopefully, attacking Nora for working as a teacher will be repudiated on November 5. My mom was a NYC teacher; I am the product of a working class upbringing. This kind of elitism is gross.
One more thing: Nora hasn't seen any of this garbage because she's too busy on the high road, winning over 2nd Ward residents with her positive campaign about issues her neighbors care about, and how she plans to address them should she represent the 2nd ward.
Yes, and Fisher is no longer the CFO of a Real Estate Firm because she was fired. Actually, my understanding is they bought her out so she'd GO AWAY.
ReplyDeleteWith all her touted expertise, in real estate and development finance, what does the 2nd Ward have to show for it? Monarch is still hanging over their heads, were it not for the Administration trying to work out an alternative deal. Don't forget, there was a previous deal that would have moved development rights to the NW redevelopment area and the Council voted it down, sending the everyone involved back to court. Tiff's fellow Tea Building residents should keep that in mind.
To my knowledge Fisher was not fired. I heard she was bought out, but I'm really not interested. Her work history would be irrelevant if her campaign operatives were not flogging her resume and attacking Nora's.
DeleteGiven the stupidity of many of her comments, particularly those involving finance, I find it hard to believe she ran a cash register at a gas station much less anything more complicated than that.

ReplyDeleteUnlike many other regular commenters who try to "out" me as who they think I am pretty much whenever I post, I never publicly speculate about the secret identities of screen names.
But anonymity means people are neither ruled in or out. In my opinion, the person posting this nonsense - calling themselves the Auditor for whatever that's worth, is as likely to be Fisher herself as it is to be any of her usual surrogates.
I think numberscruncher may be correct, as the comments seem to be written in Fisher's style of speaking, which she does a lot of. Not very good at listening, and that's one of Nora's strengths. A dialogue with Fisher is a monologue that will make your ears bleed.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe Nora is going to go low on this, she's really much more honest and ethical than Fisher. And as you said, GA, it's not relevant how Fisher made her money, assuming legally, or the circumstances of her leaving her last job, but trotting out her experience as some kind of pedigree entitles us to know, just what kind of a CV does she really have?
And even if it's all great, she hasn't done anything since that cash windfall except create problems for Hoboken. Intelligent people who are sitting on a pile of dough usually want more from life. And her financial acumen, the thing she want's to be known for, is non-existent where Hoboken is concerned. With her colleagues on council, she has cost the city enormous sums as they try to punish Bhalla and Zimmer in absentia.
The only thing positive about Fisher is that she was a better choice than Biancamano, and she wasn't Mason, but she's proven herself to be a total washout as a councilperson and somehow managed to embody the worst characteristics of both.
Anon - I did not say that I thought the a-hole poster on HCV was Fisher herself. I only pointed out that there was no real way of ruling it out.
ReplyDeleteWhoever the poster is has cast Fisher in a really bad light. At least if it's Fisher herself she'll have no one to blame but herself if this kind of nonsense costs her the election.
Numbers, yes, I understood that. I took it up a notch by comparing the writing to the style of Fisher's speaking and drew another theoretical conclusion, which may be correct, or not.
DeleteIf it is Fisher, then she seems disturbed. If it isn't, then we know that just like Giattino, she has her fawning fan club, who are willing to write vile things about a candidate who is very beloved throughout Hoboken, and that Fisher is willing to let them stand.
Meanwhile, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious about just what bona fides Fisher possesses, now that that's on the table. Her alleged brilliance isn't evident at council meetings.
Sure Hope Team Bhalla does better than tonight... OMG it's political malpractice on Bhalla's part putting up "Mrs. Milano" as a candidate and not preparing her for tonight's debate. She was so petty and had NOT a single idea. All she kept saying was "Um... Um... My opponent " and " It's Mrs. Milano to you" So childish it's obvious she has no business running any budget, a complete incompetent.

Mig is a DOer not a TALKer, did not come armed with schtick and talking points and canned attack lines and fancy renderings, opted not to brag about her good work for First Ward businesses, but had to deflect incoming fire from her weasely opponent. Talk about petty! His attacks were personal and demeaning. MDF reminded me of Peter Camaranno-- I saw that debate where he savaged Dawn Zimmer as a photographer/housewife-a nothing. DeleteNora is a graduate of Syracuse University and, if you've spoken with her, she's obviously intelligent. She may not have chosen a career as lucrative as what Tiffanie chose, but Nora's never been pushed out, bought out, or fired. And she's helped people a lot more through her work than anything Tiffanie's done. I admire the work that Nora's done.
ReplyDeleteIf we're going to be all elitist about this, it's a fair guess that whoever wrote those things about Nora supports Tiffanie's whole ticket. Do we need to get started talking about the educational credentials of all the candidates? Or of all the candidates Tiffanie herself has supported in the past?
You do have to love how Tiff's supporters have gone straight to the gutter with the most vile and disgusting attacks. She really wants the whole town to vote against her and her slate of bootlickers and sellouts.
