Self-dealing at it's most flagrant! Wow, shameless! AND a Hoboken Pay-to-Play violation!
On June 28, 2019, The Hudson Reporter article, "DeFusco will Dump Tainted Dollars" wrote:
"DeFusco announced he would donate the remaining $4,000 from Raia’s business to the Hudson County Democratic Organization’s LGBTQ+ Caucus on June 28 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots that occurred on the same day in 1969.The money will be used to promote equality and help the caucus work with all 12 towns in Hudson County achieve a perfect Municipal Equality Index score from the Human Rights Campaign."
Really? And spending at least $4,000- the amount of "tainted dollars" DeFusco gifted his own caucus- on his own re-election campaign in "promoting 12 towns in Hudson County achieve a perfect Municipal Equality Index score from the Human Rights Campaign."
No, it's self-dealing, and with money he purported to be tainted enough to donate. In fact, Mike DeFusco is using his LGBTQ HCDO Caucus to launder "tainted" money back to himself.
Oh yeah, he also ENDORSED himself! Ever hear of that? Me neither.

The Chair of the HCDO LGBTQ Caucus endorsed himself as the best candidate to represent the Hoboken LGBTQ community, inspite of the fact that his opponent, Migdalia Pagan Milano was a founder of Hoboken Pride Week and has programmed all its events since its inception AND Hoboken COuncilman Mike DeFusco has NEVER ATTENDED one Hoboken Pride event! Not even the ones in his own ward!

Imagine if a person of this low ethical character ever became the Mayor of Hoboken? Jen Giattino and Tiffanie Fisher should be repudiated at the polls for their alliance with him.
Just like the worst POTUS some of his council colleagues worship, he's engaged in quid-pro-quo on a local level He donated (some of Raia's money?) to the NJ Democrat LGBTQ Caucus, who were only too eager to engage in a smear campaign against GA, and may have purchased the endorsement of Garden State Equality. The ironic thing is, he's not gay, he's homosexual. There's a difference.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely doubt there are any significant number of elected officials who are members of the Hudson County LGBTQ caucus. Probably just an echo chamber of commerce. And he's in thick with the County bosses who are most probably homophobes. When he doesn't deliver for them, he'll be surprised how quickly they drop him.
Can't wait for the day when I don't have to see his smirking mug and his ridiculously large double Windsor knotted ties on his push ads on Facebook.
Unfortunately, both Garden State Equality and the LGBT Victory Fund have a policy of endorsing incumbents. I hear that several members of the board of GSE were not happy, but had no choice but to endorse MDF and held their noses while doing so.

DeleteHe pestered Zimmer's staff to comply with the Human Rights Campaign Fund's standards, and then thwarted them from achieving the goal. Now that Bhalla has achieved it, DeFusco takes credit for it.
The Worst Ward Councilman flouts ELEC law, refuses to comply with Hoboken's pay-to-play ordinance, and illegally blocks people on social media, something even Trump couldn't get away with, and he's missed countless council meetings. When he is present, he's just a whining obstructionist, a puppet of Sacco and his minions, and the neurotic, over-bred lap dog pet of the developers.
And he wants four more years?
