UPDATED: PETITIONS IN! Which slate got the MOST? Which slate got the LEAST?

Dark Side Team (DeFusco, Fisher, Giattino, Ramos under same management)  vs Bhalla-Zimmer Reform

UPDATE: The "unofficial" results below have been edited to show the Hoboken City Clerk's official results-- all edits are in red font.  Apologies to Lisa Sprengle who in fact out-performed Ruben Ramos in the 4th ward.

Boy, the Hoboken City Clerk is treating yesterday's petition totals like they're the Manhattan Project. Hence, GA won't have their "official" numbers until my OPRA request is returned.  Pending confirmation, the following are unofficial petition totals. If any are incorrect, please contact grafixavenger666@gmail.com.

FIRST WARD CANDIDATES:
Michael DeFusco (incumbent): 116 petitions
Migdalia Pagan Milano: 350

SECOND WARD CANDIDATES:
Tiffanie Fisher (incumbent):  123
Nora DiBenedetto: 167

THIRD WARD CANDIDATES:
Mike Russo (Incumbent): 130
Ron Bautista: 132

FOURTH WARD CANDIDATES:
Ruben Ramos (incumbent): 125
Lisa Farrell- Sprengle: 132

FIFTH WARD CANDIDATES:
Nicola Maganuco:  90
Tim Crowell: 136
Phil Cohen:  146

SIXTH WARD CANDIDATES:
Jen Giattino (incumbent): 82
Frank Rosner: 80
Cristin Cricco-Powell: 137

SLATE TOTALS
Team BHALLA936
Team DARK SIDE: 536 (with Nicola) or 582 (with Crowell)

GA note: Generally speaking, challengers have an uphill climb to win an election against better-known incumbents.   So, what accounts for Hoboken's incumbent Dark Side Team's relatively low petition returns against Bhalla's lesser-known candidates?   Does this indicate an enthusiasm gap or laziness?  Well, the hard part is ahead for all candidates. Game on!

  1. The 3 to 1 gap in totals: Mig (350) - Mike (112) pretty much confirms what the word on the street was, that his campaign was having difficulty getting his petitions signed.

  2. I heard same. Defusco had workers going around for him but people wouldn't open their doors. Plenty of buyer's remorse especially in MVP. I expect Phil's in a runoff with Tim but not sure about the others.

    1. DeFusco has always tried to outsource his campaigning with companies like Vision Media and proxies like Frank Raia doing the real ground work for him. Having met him a few times he has a good two minute happy talk spiel but when that runs out he runs out of the room.
