8-month pregnant Sheillah Dallara being pushed off BOE ticket!

GA is not reporting this as a rumor, because I have confirmed it is true.

And, this mean-spirited effort has nothing to do with Dallara's performance on the board; in fact it is coming from persons outside the board and is unsupported by the board.

Sheillah Dallarah  with Board trustee Chetali Khanna
Nor is this about about City Hall politics. This matter of pushing Sheillah off is unrelated to the upcoming ward elections; the BoE as a collective will not endorse candidates; they are staying out.

Then what's it about?

When the vast majority of sitting Board Members love and support Sheillah, why are others pulling this power play over who gets to run and who doesn't?

The mutiny is being fomented by political insiders who have promised to SPLIT the board and run a second ticket if Dallara doesn't quit.

Have any of them considered the unintended consequences of running a second BoE ticket?Think about that. Think about fringe candidates who may win a board seat.

You know, Sheillah is a hardworking, kind, honest and effective  Board Trustee. She is a voice for kids with disabilities-- her autistic son is being mainstreamed in the Hoboken District.

Excuse me, but to reward this lady's service with a full frontal attack to drive her off the board when she is so preggers she's about to POP is just nasty.

I respect and admire Sheillah for her work on the Board and her contribution to this city. Whatever happens,  you've got my vote, lady!

  1. Tiffanie’s new pals include long-standing enemies of BOE reform. Ramos, Defusco, the Murrays, Branco, others. Tiffanie’s job is to put lipstick on whatever they come up with.

  2. That's quite the collection of the worst of the worst. Just reading those names makes me feel like I need to take a shower, or in Murray's case, a bath. Blech!

I don't understand the attraction to Fisher and Giattino, who seem to have the fawning,
unquestioning attention of some women who I thought were smarter than that.

When corrupt politicians meddle in school board elections, watch out.

Who do they want to prop up in Sheillah's place, and to what outcome?

  3. GA - I'm confused by you saying this has nothing to do with city politics or the ward races. If this is being pushed by people in Tiffanie Fisher's inner circle then this has EVERYTHING to do with local politics, and perhaps more importantly, with the personal desire of a small group of highly political school board actors players in the Fisher Giattino camp to retain and expand their own power.

It's no secret that a small cabal of highly political people whose names are well known to long time political observers have exercised outsized influence over the School Board over the years.

Some of these people never actually served on the Board. Others served at one time but continued after leaving elected office as secret defacto members exercising as much or more influence than the people actually serving.

It's ironic that these "shadow" school board leaders who chose school board tickets in secret for years without consulting others (including the mayor), have the audacity to prattle on about "shadow mayors" and Mayor Zimmer deciding to endorse Ravi without their permission.

The leaders of this cabal were, to put it mildly, not fans of Mayor Zimmer, and were reportedly livid when the current School Board members (and GA) refused to join together to endorse Giattino for mayor as the supposed REAL REFORM candidate.

It's not surprising that this group wishes to continue to wield secret back room influence over the elected board members.

The back room is their preferred genre. It's time to shine the light and watch them scurry away.

    1. No need. BOE coverage on our corporate website is unparalleled!

Frank was on the BOE at one point. One time Ravi said he was an asset to Hoboken.

Anthony Russo used to have firm control over the BOE. Ravi invited him to visit city hall.

And right before the 2017 BOE election, Ravi made that flyer.

See? We covered all the biggest BOE stories. No need to look elsewhere.

    2. I meant that the current School Board Trustees are not responsive to City Hall politics. That's what I meant. This is an exceptional panel ofboard members, and should be left to resolve their own internal politics on their own without outside influence.

It is possible this board may end up running independents rather than a slate. We see how Reform slate A v Reform Slate B did not work out so well in 2017. Maybe if they cannot work it out amongst themselves they should run independents. I don't know what the answer is.

  4. Sorry GA I misunderstood you. I thought you meant the troublemakers weren't acting politically and that made no sense. With that crew everything is about politics and power.

IMHO the a-political group should run as a ticket supported by most SB members and not worry about what the troublemakers threatening to do.

Tickets define who candidates without alot of individual name recognition are so it will be really confusing for voters without one.

    1. No prob at all. Seems to me that the BoE may want to run independents this go-round.

  5. The people behind this shiv in the back are mad about the Madigan alliance last year even as they stand by the Ramos/DeFusco alliance on the city council. Hypocrites to their core. The same ones who protected a crony who was abundantly skipping special-ed classes she was supposed to be teaching, and swept the issue under the rug. The worst scum in town, and that's saying something.

  6. I want to know who made the ultimatum, and why they feel entitled to do something so underhanded and shortsighted.

  7. What a bunch of disgusting people. Every time you think they can't sink any lower - they find a way to become more vile and disgusting.
