GA told you so! Last November!

But until yesterday, Frank Raia was not a convicted felon.  And so, what to do with the pile of loot-- $9,900--that Michael DeFusco got from a now-convicted felon?

The clean (as in not-corrupt), honest born-and-raised Hoboken First Ward candidate, Migdalia Pagan Milano says, return the money.  See her campaign's press release below.

Pagan Milano Calls on Councilman DeFusco to Return $9,400 in Raia Contributions

Migdalia Pagan Milano, who is a candidate for Ward 1 Council, today called on Councilman Michael DeFusco to return the total of $9,400 in contributions he received from Frank Raia and entities controlled by Raia for his 2017 Mayoral campaign. Raia was found guilty yesterday of organizing and overseeing a large-scale vote-buying scheme in which cash was illegally traded for hundreds of votes. This has been a persistent problem in Hoboken elections.

Migdalia Pagan Milano said, “ As a lifelong resident, I have seen first-hand the negative impact of political corruption on our City. It is critical that all Hoboken elected officials send a strong message that political corruption that undermines the integrity of our elections will no longer be tolerated in Hoboken. As the recipient of a large total of $9,400 in contributions from Mr. Raia it is especially incumbent on Councilman DeFusco to return the money. Failing to do so sends precisely the wrong message.”

Frank Raia personally gave a total of $5,400 to DeFusco campaign entities and 600 Monroe Street, a Raia controlled LLC, gave a total of $4,000(See the record of contributions provided below).

Migdalia Pagan Milano is a lifelong resident who began working with the community as an assistant in the Cultural Affairs Department for the City for Hoboken. She was instrumental in organizing Hoboken’s first Pride week. Currently, Migdalia works in the newly reconstituted Department of Constituent Affairs where she effectively finds solutions to residents’ day to day issues.
