"Close to 300" turn-out for Team Bhalla

Folks, that's no exaggeration.  I arrived at 10th and Willow few minutes before 7PM and the place was already half-full. At 7:30 the room looked like this:

And they kept coming, with overflow onto the sidewalk.  So, that is my take-away from the evening: tremendous energy and enthusiasm for this ticket that took me back 2 election cycles. This feels like a change election.

Dignitaries in attendance included former Hoboken Mayor Dave Roberts, former Hoboken Mayor Zimmer, 33rd District Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro, Hoboken School Board Trustees Ailene McGuirk, Sharyn Angley, Chetali Khanna, Jennifer Evans and Sheillah Dallara, Planning Board Chair Frank Magaletta, Planning Board member Jon Otto, Hoboken At-Large Councilpeople Emily Jabbour and Jim Doyle.

Of course, the stars of the night were the candidates: Migdalia, Nora, Lisa, Phil and Cristin.

Introduced by Councilwoman Jabbour and Mayor Bhalla, their speeches set the tone for the campaign: forward-looking, positive, compelled to serve by love for our Hoboken community. No trash-talk.  Like I said, this is Team Nice.

And judging from the crowd's reception:  cheers, woot-woots and applause, their positive message for their respective wards is what residents want.  Let the bullies, opposition researchers, and blog-kook have at it!

Anyway, my liver is not speaking to Jim Doyle... but thanks Jim, for the beer!
