Who luvs ya, Sacco baby!

In a show of serious political muscle, Monday's re-election Kick-Off for North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco attracted every mayor in Hudson County plus 1,000 bodies all packing Schuetzen Park's banquet hall.

And Sacco came out swinging in his remarks-- about destroying people, going to war, how North Bergen is harmed by the existence of his political opposition.  Scary shit, if you ask me!  But hey, what do I know about North Bergen politics. Nada.

Excerpts from Sacco's speech as reported in Hudson County View:
“We’re going out there, with 1,000 plus strong, door by door, step by step, and destroy these people, destroy them,” began Sacco.

“They have to go, they hurt North Bergen by their existence, they have to go. Have a great evening and let’s go out to war, we’re out to war. Let’s go out and finish them. Let’s get rid of these people. Let’s do what we have to do, let them be destroyed once and for all through your power, and let’s have a great election.”
"They have to go." Go where?  Are they going in cement shoes?

"Let's go and finish them." Finish or whack?

"Let's get rid of these people"  Like rub-out?

Oh, I kid Uncle Nick. I've been told that he is quite charming: old school and nice. Never met Mayor Sacco but definitely think he should get an acting side gig, like Hoboken's former Mayor Anthony Russo. Did you know that Mayor Russo had a bit part in the Robert DeNiro flick "Analyze This"?Sacco would make a great character actor. Really.

FISHER DOUBLE-TALKING MAYOR SACCO?
The only Hoboken Council person to attend the Sacco Kick-off was Second Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher.

Not only did Fisher attend but stood next to Sacco center stage where she would be seen and photographed.   In politics, who you are photographed with has symbolic value.  Fisher made sure that the optics were: "I'm with Him (Sacco.)"

That's interesting because privately, Fisher has expressed vehement opposition to the North Bergen power plant, Sacco's pet project.  And she has been stoking her personal blogger to bully Jim Doyle to bring back his resolution  condemning the North Bergen Power Plant.  It seems that Fisher is chomping at the bit to vote "YES."

In that case, is the Councilwoman being honest with Sacco about her opposition to his North Bergen Power Plant?  In Mayor Sacco's world,  you are with him or against him.

So, if she is telling Sacco that she supports his North Bergen Power Plant project, why does she continue to have her blogger bully Doyle to bring back the resolution opposing Sacco's power plant. Got an idea...

Why doesn't Tiffanie Fisher sponsor Doyle's resolution?

She has told her council colleagues that she opposes the Sacco power plant. Why keep haranguing Doyle when she and Ruben can be sponsors?

FISHER-RAMOS RESOLUTION OPPOSING SACCO POWER PLANT

You know, the Fisher allegation (laundered by her blogger) is that Mayor Bhalla pulled the resolution to make a dirty deal with Sacco. Okay, pretend that Fisher is correct. Since  Mayor Bhalla has no control over her and no control over Ruben Ramos, let them sponsor Doyle's resolution.

Problem solved!  Think they will?

  1. Just to be clear, when you db’s go to a Sacco event, that’s face-punching and hypocritical and whatnot.

When mom does it, it’s showing that more voices are better.

So this is more a case of more voices being better, ya stinkin’ face-punchers.

  2. Fischer is such a hypocritical piece of crap. Sucking up as hard as she can while taking pictures to criticize other people for going to the same event.

  3. so she was close enough to sacco to be on a date and taking snaps to be used on her 4th graders blog to complain about bhalla people showing up. anyone who still trusts her is just plain dumb.

  4. Sorry to hear as well. As for Sacco, the NBC investigative reports don't lie. None of our elected officials should brush elbows with corruption. You laughed in your prior post but it's no laughing matter. Tiffanie shouldn't go to his rallies and nor should the mayor's office staff. Try not to sell the line that it doesn't impact Hoboken, clearly it helps maintain an air that anything goes in the county. If Ravi can stand up to trump why can't he stand up to someone with less power locally? We can't be two faced about moving away from corruption. Local media doesn't report on it either, it shouldn't fall to NBC.

    1. Thanks, Anon. The best way to protect Hoboken is to keep interference from the County at arm's length and maintain a civil relationship with those who have power to help or hurt us. I would argue that Sacco has more direct power over Hoboken than Trump does. I direct your attention to the millions of dollars in discretionary funding that Hoboken gets from the County each year. Elections have consequences. DeGise/Sacco won. It is safe to assume that being the only Hudson County mayor out of 12 mayors to no-show to Sacco's rally would have harmful consequences for Hoboken. Fisher's attendance was entirely elective. Had she stayed home, it would have had no political impact here. I would argue your point: Mayor Bhalla is standing up for Hoboken. As for bringing staff, all I would say is they get a stipend for overtime, its not paid hourly, so don't see why that is an issue. as attending after-hours events with the mayor is part of their job.

Your point about local media not covering local scandals is on point. Look around and see who is advertising on our local media. You'd think that NB would have at least one blogger covering that stuff, although I wouldn't want to bet on his/her life expectancy. Maybe that's why. Another reason to keep those people far away from Hoboken, and to replace politicians who canoodle with them: Fisher, Ramos and DeFusco.
