#ImWithHim on the North Bergen Power Plant

Politicians are natural people-pleasers.  Some say different things depending upon which room they're in. And there's no way to know to know if a politician is blowing hot gas at you (like a gas-generating power plant) unless... there's audio or video or a photo.

Pictures don't lie.  That's not Jim Doyle onstage with Nick Sacco, it's Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher. Fisher says one thing in Hoboken ("I don't support Nick Sacco's power plant project") then runs to North Bergen to be thisclose to Sacco center stage at his re-election kick-off.  In fact, if they were standing any closer, Fisher and Sacco would merge like amoeba.

Amoeba mergers and acquisition

Moreover, Fisher has been bullying Jim Doyle by proxy (her blogger) to bring back his resolution opposing the Sacco power plant project. To boot, she's fomenting rumors (via her blogger) that Bhalla made a dirty deal with Sacco, and that's why the Power Plant resolution got pulled.  False. GA caught the drift of what went down- just the drift- and all I choose to say is this verse from Job 1:21 (with minor tweaks):

“The County giveth and the County will taketh away.”

You follow? You don't?  Well, figure it out.

Nice how Hoboken gets treated when Hoboken residents get milked like friggin' cows by the County.  Look what we pay per resident versus the 11 other Hudson County municipalities.

HOBOKEN TAXPAYER MASSACRE

Sacco and DeGise should be kissing our over-taxed asses.

But you know, since Fisher keeps banging the resolution drum, and since Mayor Bhalla has no influence over her nor over the "council majority" she should sponsor the Resolution opposing the North Bergen Power Plant.  Yeah, I want to see THAT.

GA will be going on hiatus. Some of you know, my mom passed away last month and I have to take care of things, including myself. I'll leave commenting open for a few days, then will shut off so I don't have to monitor.  Folks are welcome to contact me at grafixavenger666@gmail.com. You people are the best. Most of you. Some of you. Maybe a few- you know who you are.  Just kiddin'.

  3. We're all grateful to your mom (and dad). Without knowing them, I already know they were special people.

Take your time. All emotional processing is organic and works the way it needs to on its own clock.

If you decide not to come back, you had a helluva run and you don't owe anyone anything.

Either way, I would avoid blog world for a while. Other than any actual scandal involving Bhalla, nothing else will be reported. And that may be frustrating to watch. After all, you alone pointed out Tiffanie standing next to Sacco while her comedy blog used her pictures to finger-wag at others present (albeit in less honored positions).

But through your efforts - and Roman's and Kurt's back when they were making an effort - the town got a lot smarter. So let's see if it can suss out the grifters in its midst despite the fact that seemingly no one else thinks the grifting is worth reporting on. Maybe the town has finally grown up and wised up enough for it. And if it hasn't, that's not on you.

Apparently when I quote anyone, it irritates the bejeesus out of my fanclub. So that makes this doubly fun. It's from Samuel Beckett and speaks well to endless, courageous self re-invention.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.

  4. GA - taking care of yourself and your family is always job 1. It's too easy to let yourself get consumed by all the BS that, despite all our progress in other ways, remains an enduring part of Hoboken's political scene both online and off.

  5. Folks, I decided to take down yesterday's post. I got caught up in the toxicity of a person who does not matter to me or to this city. I don't matter either- no one who comes here to read about me or 'him' fighting with each other. It is stupid and narcissistic. People come here because to read about Hoboken, not bloggers. They come to read about elected officials and board appointees and County taxes, and about pay-to-players, VBM traffickers, council members who give seats to political cronies, council members who sell out Hoboken by going to Zoning Board meetings in Jersey City for developer donors. Who gave you that information with documentary proof? This blog. That is what this blog is about: making sure Hoboken government works for the people and not for themselves. So far, so good. What matters to me and to you is Hoboken. Hostilities between myself and a barely literate, Alt Right, Trumper who continues to poison our city's political discourse with name calling (Ravibots, Sybil, Shadow, bla bla bla) manufactured news and yellow journalism-- such idiotic discourse does nothing to move Hoboken forward. So, that's it. Peace out.

  8. Some fun this evening for the not-dead.

For the un-dead feasting on the living, every night is pretty much the same.
