Reported earlier today on Hudson County View:
"While serving a 30-month prison sentence for his alleged role in a $7 million New York-based car loan scheme, former Hoboken Council President Chris Campos was hit with over $22,000 in campaign finance fines that date all the way back to 2007."Here is the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement's Final Decision:

Many of the same players who backed Campos and Cammarano are now coalescing behind DeFusco. Show me your friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to raise funds! Please do go after the others :) !
ReplyDeleteUnderwrite, then indict. Lather, rinse, repeat. That's how the old guard rolls.
ReplyDeleteThe ironic similarities between these clowns and the rabid, chihuahua would-be politico groomed by Fitzgibbons would be laughable if we didn't have to live with all of their bullshit until they either go to prison or leave town amidst scandals. Either one is OK by me.
New ideas!
New energy!
New indictments!
I did leaflets and door-hangers in Campos's old building at dawn on the day he finally was defeated by Zimmer. I think Tony let us in. We went up to the top and worked our way down. At some point we ended up in an elevator with Campos. Us with our literature. I wasn't recognizable to him, but my leafleting partner was; and we were toting all our Zimmer stuff. He was in his campaign day suit. Didn't say anything. After the merest flicker of recognition spent the rest of the ride looking down. One of those "someone walked across your grave" moments I guess. As if he knew it was over right then. But probably not. He's one of those people who only comes to life in certain contexts, and we weren't that context. But seeing him reminded us to go back up and do his door too so it would be there when he got home that night.
ReplyDeleteGreat story. I don't think Tony would campaign against him today.
