DUD #1: CUTTING MAYOR'S STAFF
On January 2, 2019, the 5-members of a permanent anti-Bhalla coalition came up one vote short of overriding Mayor Bhalla's veto. The City of Hoboken put out a Nixle today, which read in part:
Losing the override clearly hurt; Council Prez Giattino winced when the City Clerk announced "the motion fails."
DUD #2: "NO SHOW JOB" ALLEGATION
NEXT! The 5-member anti-Administration coalition has latched onto a new line of attack: alleging there is a "no show job" in the Mayor's office.
GA has done due diligence not done anywhere else. Facts are not hard to find if you look. And the facts prove that the "no show job" allegation is false.
Good people should not be used as proxies in the council's relentess war on the Mayor's office. The persons trying to scandalize a former employee of the Mayor's office-- an honest, honorable, law-abiding guy, making him collateral damage in their war on the mayor-- are playing with fire. They will own any damage to the man's livelihood.

City hall personnel, current and former, are legally entitled to have their employment matters discussed in private, in Executive session.
So, here are the facts.
(1) This employee's last day of paid work for the City of Hoboken, was for the payroll period ending Thursday, Dec 12. No checks were cut after that pay period ending Dec. 12.
(2) His first day of work at his new job was Friday, Dec. 13.
Hence, no laws were broken. No dual-job holding. No "no show" employees. Yep, another effort to undermine the Mayor's office is a big FAIL.
Of course, now the City Council is free to interrogate the guy in the manner that they tormented Gary Holtzman, but after he is Riced. That is the law. I am sure they are writing lists of questions right now.
Don't you wish these 5 council members would work this hard for their ward constituents?
At the last council meeting, we saw Fisher and DeFiasco tip-toe up to the edge of the cliff of illegality more than once, insisting on discussing an employee who had not been given a Rice notice. Aloia did his level best to rein them in, but their ignorance knows no bounds, so over and over, they asked the same thing. I hope the now former employee sues.

ReplyDeleteThe midterm elections delivered a powerful message about to people who claim to be draining the swamp while actually filling it with friends. Not at all surprised that the fake democrats on the council didn’t receive the message. They’ll receive it later this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clearing up the confusion GA. The doofus conspiracy theorist still thinks pizzagate was a thing so it's not surprising that he genuinely sees imaginary scandals everywhere. Reality will never creep in - light has no access to his mind. He'll keep chewing on his delusion like a dog with a bone. But the rest of us should just roll our eyes and move on.

I have gotten to the point where I distrust every word they say and write.

Why am I not surprised? What sane resident of Hoboken gives two shits about what appears on that cesspool of disinformation?
