The Madness of Queen Fisher

NOT A PHOTOSHOP: This is the real Roman Brice-- this coward belittles men's/women's physical appearance on his trash blog!

Oy vey. My attention was just called to an unfortunate email from Hoboken's mentally unstable 2nd Ward Councilwoman. Her latest dispatch-- a(nother) narcissistic, paranoid diatribe has woven me in a new bizarro conspiracy web with none other than Hoboken activist Patty Waiters!

Yes, I'm talking about Tiffanie "you hurt my wittle feelings" Fisher.

Instead of a Christmas card, Fisher served constituents a  rambling , whiny WAH-fest attacking the free speech of two Hoboken residents who dared criticize her in public, and GA's free speech for writing about them and ethics complaints filed against her.

Well, these are issues of public interest and public concern, and I write about politics, so "screw you," Ms. Fisher. What anti-democratic Trumpian vomit from a Hoboken elected official.

Fisher's meltdown was apparently triggered by Patty Waiters' appearance at the Council last night. GA was surprised to hear Ms. Waiters invoke my name-- for maybe 10 seconds. Well, those 10 seconds were  enough to launch Fisher straight off her rocker! Fisher's word salad alleges that this blog colluded with Patty Waiters-- yeah, right!  That's happened- NOT.  Pass me what you're smoking, Tiffy.

Please see below an excerpt from the Councilwoman's nonsensical email (what she claimed Waiters said) then watch (the vid) of what Patty actually said.

WHAT FISHER CLAIMS PATTY WAITERS SAID:

WHAT PATTY WAITERS ACTUALLY SAID:

"...I'm only talking about some emails that you were shared on, and Nancy Pincus website was one, she even called--oh my God Nancy I know you're watching-- and apologized for the behavior, okay..."

Honestly, I have no idea what emails Patty is referring to (posted on this blog?) nor what "apology"  I made.  Maybe I will ask her.  My only contact with Patty since I saw her at the Mayor's Hilton Hotel press conference was a text message I sent her on December 11 for comment on a story I was writing. She never replied.

CONCLUSION: Fisher is full of shit. Surprise!

NOT A PHOTOSHOP: this is the real Roman Brice

  1. The romance between Beth 2.0 and her stable boy is really starting to make sense. They both have a penchant for paranoid fantasies and conspiracy theories.

  8. Fisher is pretty adept at "dishing it out" albeit in a sanctimonious passive aggressive way, but is, 1st amendment be damned, horribly aggrieved when criticism of any sort comes her way.

Her hypocrisy, IMHO, derives from a deeply rooted narcicism so ingrained that it crosses the line into the pathological.

I guess that makes her pretty similar to Presisident Trump, so she's in good company in being mentally unfit for the office she holds.

I don't agree with all the criticisms directed at her, and its pretty ironic to be called a racist by Patty Waiters who's anti-semitic rant at the HHA seems to have been forgotten by her new public employer. But being criticised, fairly or unfairly, whether motivated by politics or honest belief, is part of the job and even most children understand that it's a core constitutional principle.

    1. I have no qualms about calling her a racist. When Jen's camp was trying to convince voters that "Ravi wasn't electable", we pressed them on telling us exactly what that meant because a reasonable person can read that as meaning "A brown person with a turban can't win." They never explained what that meant. Peter said there were things about Ravi they couldn't talk about; well, why not? If it's so important that it makes Ravi clearly unfit for office, you should most definitely tell everyone what that's about. Tiffanie got defensive and instead of answering the question, she got indignant about the implication she's racist. Jen said nothing. They all could have easily said it has nothing to do about the color of his skin, his turban, or his religion. But no. So to me, it was clearly about playing into racist fears of prospective voters for political gain. Is that racist? To me, yes. I have no qualms about calling Tiffanie Fisher a racist.

    2. Anon, agree with you.

First time I heard Tiffanie call Ravi "unelectable" on the phone, lobbying for me to side with her/Giattino that sealed the deal. I don't claim to be perfect, but I have no tolerance for racist dog-whistlers. And if whispering that Ravi was "unelectable" did not mean the way so many interpreted it (including her Council colleagues who heard the word "unelectable" straight from her mouth) than why not OWN it? Fisher has only denied that she was the source of the "unelectable" talking point. So, the fact she cannot be honest about that, is 'consciousness of guilt' that she meant the word exactly as so many received it.

BTW Anon, calling a politician a "racist" when you have a reasonable basis for that opinion, and you come to that opinion in good faith IS settled law, and protected speech. Tiffanie needs to put her big-girl pants on and stop whining when her "unelectable" chickens come home to roost. And questioning Chris Brown's "qualifications" in the media? Anyone care to explain what that was about?

numbers, I also agree with a lot of what you say. I would like to add that exploiting peoples racism/ Anti-Semitism in Hoboken is nothing new; like anti-Semitic whisper campaigns run against Dawn Zimmer. It is rather refreshing when people wear their prejudice instead of running from it.

    3. I think there's a difference between saying "I don't think a brown man in a turban can win" and saying "I'd never vote for a brown man in a turban" or "a brown man in a turban shouldn't be able to win." IMHO the first statement is not racist - it's a comment reflecting the perceived racism of others. The second and third are overtly racist. I too believed that Ravi's race and religion would make it harder for him to win, just like I thought that the fact that Giattino was a republican would make it harder for her to win. I don't think supporting the candidate you think is more electable is wrong, since when the stakes are high winning is pretty important.

Fisher and Giattino were probably just trying to come up with a justification for Giattino's candidacy that they thought sounded more noble than the real ones (which were a feeling of personal entitlement, personal political ambition and the lust for power).

I don't think it was racist but it should have been obvious to anyone with a brain that it was a stupid dishonest tactic that would backfire because it would come off sounding racist. Saying "I'm running because I want to be mayor just like Ravi does and Mayor Zimmer is entitled to her opinion but doesn't get to decide" would have had the virtue of being true. But apparently they didn't think the truth would get them where they wanted to go, they went with the unelectable thing, and now they continue to reap what they have sown.

    4. If someone were to say, "a black man can't win," we'd all recognize that for what it is. An expectation of racism in a benighted community.

If the next step were to propose that someone else was defacto more "qualified to win," we'd all recognize that as enabling the racism.

But anyone who wants to be thought of as a leader knows they have to fight against that mindset, not plan around it. The Letter from a Birmingham Jail calls them out. The ones who didn't see themselves racist, but believed that responses to racism needed to be "well timed." Bhalla's candidacy was not "well timed."

It's telling that Fisher had such a bleak assessment of Hoboken to begin with. The city continues to labor under the dead weight of her low opinion of the community.

  9. Whenever Fisher starts off by telling you how thick her skin is, you know she's about to illustrate the exact opposite.

But it's one thing for a forgotten blog to traffic in conspiracy theories and demand retribution as though the conspiracies have all been proven true. It's another for an elected official to do the same and even insist that her followers go after the mayor and CoS - as though her conspiracy theories have all been proven true.

With Trump, I keep wondering what the breaking point is for tribalism. When do they finally judge him on his abominable merits instead of shuddering at how much they hate the rival tribe.

I have to now wonder the same with Fisher. Because this is outrageous behavior for an elected official. Spreading her paranoid delusions as a Christmas card to her tribe and inviting them to take up pitchforks and torches against Bhalla and Allen because it just couldn't possibly be the case that people don't like her for who she is and for what she does. No, there has to be a grand conspiracy orchestrated from city hall. So it's only fair to sic her hounds on them.

And she embeds this bit of holiday cheer amid the racist diatribes on her preferred internet sewer pipe where it is assumed that no one ever does anything unless they have been bribed or are angling for a bribe. Which again, is acceptable drivel for desperate-for-attention hovel at the edge of the www. Not so much for and elected representative.

So let's see which tribe wakes up first. Trump's or Fisher's.

    1. Councilwoman Fisher's patronage of an Alt Right Extremist blogger who worships at the altar of White Nationalist Traitor Donald Trump, who STILL calls Trump collusion with Russia a "HOAX" and parrots the most extreme narratives on the white nationalist lunatic fringe (#TheStorm) is, IMO, an endorsement of those views.

    2. Fisher's holiday diatribe is 1st amendment protected just like her critics comments are - they can criticize her and she can respond by impugning their motives - it's all OK as far as I'm concerned. The voters will ultimately decide whether Fisher is fit for her office and both the criticisms of her and her response are important data.

If I were a 2nd ward voter, I'd find Fisher's response to the criticism far more concerning than the criticism itself. She admits she's doing a background check on and will attempt to publicly smear any citizen who criticizes her in public session, and that's pretty inappropriate for an elected official. It may be legal, but it's obviously an attempt to intimidate critics, and I don't think that will be lost on 2nd ward voters.

    3. Yes. I am going to research the standard for filing an ethics complaint (never did one) for baseless attacks on CONSTITUENTS and their FIRST AMENDMENT right to free speech at the City Council, and in fair comment online. This Councilwoman is one walking ETHICS PROBLEM for Hoboken.

    5. Da Ojo Rojo, I know the BoE has "Rules of Boardsmanship" -- dunno if the City Council has equivalent guidelines, and if so what they are. So, her misconduct may or may not violate said rules, I have no idea. The optics sure suck. The woman needs a Texas-sized Binky.

    6. Numberscruncher, I can't agree that it's "all OK". When an elected official threatens their constituents with uncovering dirt through a background check (remember Mason and Greeney and their ill-gotten obtainment of sealed court records?), they are intimidating voters and potential opponents. For those who don't recognize this for what it is, it's a SLAPP lawsuit in the making.

In the same category of silencing voices with differing opinions and inconvenient truths is DeFusco's illegally blocking people on his official social media accounts.

So it's ironic that Waiters, an anti-Semite, can play the race card, and is right to be furious with Fisher's attempt to silence her, even as she fawns over DeFusco who has silenced many.

    7. @Grafix It's clear Tiff isn't really a Democrat or anything close to it. Any real Democrat would understand the role of public libraries in a democratic society. Only a Republican (and really only extreme right-wing small government Republicans) would suggest that public libraries be treated as private institutions and pay property taxes.

  10. Tiff's conclusion that Patty Waiters (who criticizes EVERYONE) is colluding with City Hall is the most ridiculous thing ever. Patty is always declaring her love for Mike Defusco whenever she goes up to the mike. And Mike Defusco never lets a breath pass without criticizing Ravi or his admin. Also... anyone remember that awful campaign flier with pics of the Defusco "family"? Patty was a part of that family album. So nah... not really believing that Patty is colluding with anyone. Just think that as a person of color, Patty was rightly outraged by Tiffanie's inappropriate actions and weak explanation for rejecting Chris Brown's promotion.

    1. Ha! Good point. Patty was paid regularly by the DeFusco campaign. Did anyone attack Patty's right to speak at the Council, even while it was public information she was working for DeFusco's campaign. NO. EVERYONE has the right to voice their opinions, and most assuredly their POLITICAL opinions. So, no one questioned that Patty's opinions at the mic were her OWN. No matter WHO she is friends with or affiliated with in Hoboken politics. Fisher's nuttiness over two Council speakers who have friendships with peeps in City Hall are now DEPRIVED of FIRST AMENDMENT political dissent with their elected officials...huh? Fisher is out of her MIND.

One more thing. Her nuttiness is not even CONSISTENT. Fisher insists Patty's charges of "racism" at the mic are not credible, then cites Patty Waiters as a credible source for allegations of collusion with this blog? Which is it, "Tiff"?

    2. Conspiracy theories are natural bi-products of runaway narcissism.

For a public official: I'm so likable, earnest and altruistic. No one could possibly be opposed to me personally. But there could be a political conspiracy against me.... Yes, that explains it!

For a 24/7/365 attack blogger: I'm not obsessively attacking two or three people every waking hour. I'm heroically leading a crusade against vast political conspiracy....

They both need it, albeit in different ways, in order to make sense of their lives. Hence these otherwise strange political bedfellows.

    3. For years, Patty has gone up to the mic at Bd of Ed meetings and the members graciously listened. Sometimes, she makes valid points; sometimes, not. But can you imagine if any of the members threatened legal action against her? Patty has made herself a critic of the establishment and that is her reputation. So Tiffanie is sensitive b/c 1) she is a narcissist and cannot handle criticism and will therefore threaten legal action; and/or 2) this is a massive cover-up of her misdeeds and embarrassment over the Chris Brown debacle. Her colleagues ended up voting for his promotion easily. She couldn't get over herself and did not.

    4. Patty Waiters doesn't collude? Seriously? You think Patty's anti Semitic comments at the HHA were her personal heartfelt thoughts and weren't coming from Garcia? You think she sued to get Stick thrown off the ballot on her own?

Patty supports the "side" that provides her with "incentives" and attacks the opponents of those providing the incentives.

She hasn't magically become an honest independent truthteller just because you happen to agree with her current positioning and don't want to ask why she's doing that.

Frankly, anybody pretending to believe that is either an idiot or a liar.

    5. You're correct, Numberscruncher. People like Waiters are the useful attack dogs of the corrupt old guard who know how to play them while keeping their own hands clean. Who was that woman that routinely caused scenes at school board meetings? Or that large guy who would blurt things out during debates?

Sadly, they don't realize they're being used every time by those who would take advantage of those with exploitable characteristics. And that's how the old guard rolls.

I suppose you enjoyed Fisher's unhinged rant and conspiracy letter? If I can explain it to you in a language you may understand: people are unhappy with the conduct of specific elected representatives. You cannot stifle protected political speech by calling it "hateful." I think the allegations that Councilwoman Fisher made about me and emailed to a thousand people are "hateful." But, she is also exercising her First Amendment right. Only her conduct may be in violation with ethics rules, I don't know that yet. Now, if you don't like what folks are expressing here, move along.
