Raia's arraignment scheduled for Thursday

Full docket text:
NOTICE OF HEARING as to FRANCIS RAIA, DIO BRAXTON Arraignment set for 11/15/2018 09:00 AM before Judge William J. Martini.
Here's what's new in the federal case against Hoboken residents Frank Raia and Dio Braxton,  who were indicted on 10/31 for "conspiracy to use the mails to engage in a voter bribery scheme."   Both are scheduled to appear in New Jersey District Court in Newark on Thursday for arraignment. There they'll be informed of the charges against them, and the presiding judge, the Honorable William J. Martini, will decide at what amount, if any, to set bail.

Lastly, the Defendants will plea either guilty, not guilty, or no contest.  And that's it.

Related: Lizaida Camis was arraigned on October 23, 2018. It lasted 15 minutes; she pled "Not Guilty."

CAMIS' ARRAIGNMENT

That was then.  About 2 weeks later on November 8, she changed her plea.

THE NEXT SHOE TO DROP
It's coming. Will it be a high heel or a penny loafer?  On whose head(s) will it land?

I can think of a few heads that might be in danger.  At least one is a beloved head. The others- not so much.  Stay tuned.

  1. Wonder if Anthony Petrosino gets called in to testify. In 2014 on election day Frank was driving around to polls with Petrosino... what were they up to? That election Peter B and Bubbles got like 450 vbms each. What does Petrosino know?

  3. The most interesting line in the indictment was a short paragraph that was sort of buried toward the end to the effect that the conspirators had actually tampered with completed ballots to change votes. That is far more serious than paying people to vote.

    1. Interesting! Well the conspiracy charges in the indictment are subject to a 5 year statute of limitations. Assuming the DOJ wants to nail some more Hudco Dems, Frank has every incentive to spill the (alleged) beans for leniency on sentencing. If you were Frank, wouldn't you want leniency? He's a dad, got health issues. He can afford the $250K, but the 5 years is priceless. Therefore, any Hoboken politico who has been the alleged beneficiary of alleged illegal VBM harvest activities within that 5 year statute of limitations, well... glad I'm not you! That means campaigns from 2o14 to the present.
