Tonight is going to be a very special City Council meeting.
2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher has purchased stickers for the entire city of Hoboken. What a generous act. Don't you want one? Then you'll have to attend tonight's council meeting, where Fisher will be distributing the button-size stickers that say "I VOTED to Hang Gary" in patriotic red, white and blue, festooned with a life-like dangling noose.
C'mon, don't you want to witness tonight's Holtzman hanging? It's going to be special. You will enjoy sanctimonious vomit from the mouths of the most ethically-challenged chorus of council executioners since the days of Beth Mason!
Speaking of ethically- challenged...
Did you know that last week, "Planning Board Commissioner" (hee hee) Mike DeFusco skipped out on another Planning Board meeting, but made time for a Jersey City Zoning Board hearing, accompanying a donor-developer to shill for variances for his pal's project! It gets better... the project, a 13-story condo, straddles the 4th Ward of Hoboken!

To recap: a Hoboken Planning Commissioner (Mike DeFusco) skipped out on a Planning Board meeting, but went to a Jersey City Zoning Board hearing to shill for a donor-developer for a project opposed by some Hoboken residents!
How does GA know this? Several Hoboken residents attended the meeting.
So, tonight as you watch Gary gasp for air, wear your sticker proudly. It's not every day a volunteer public servant with an impeccable record of service gets booted off the Planning Board by a council of buffoons: pay-to-players, an AWOL Planning Commisioner, a VBM harvester and 3 bitter election losers.
I heard about it. He went with his buddy Hoboken developer Greg Dellaquilla to sell out Hoboken. Get the transcript please!
ReplyDeleteIsn't this influence peddling?
ReplyDeleteJen, Tiff and Peter are all for supporting people and causes that sell out Hoboken so don't expect them to care about DeFusco selling out Hoboken.
ReplyDeleteThey need DeFusco and his friends to continue bring in large amounts of cash from donors outside of Hoboken to fill their joint campaign war chest for the next election.
DeleteJf that means selling out Hoboken in the process they will.
When a developer buys a politician, they expect a return on their investment. Did they go to The Malibu after the Jersey City meeting, or the Brownstone Diner?
DeleteAdvocating for the financial interests of your political donors may not be a prosectable crime (see Bob Menendez) but it is corrupt.
ReplyDeleteIt shows that you are open to a little quid pro quo if the money is right.
DeleteI have a question -- going forward, should referendum questions not offer a "maybe" option? That way, if no answer gets over 50% of the vote, there can be a runoff to determine which result actually reflects a majority of the people. In this respect, the runoff question was rigged, because people only had two options when the third, perfectly reasonable choice of "maybe" was not available. And as we know, more choices are better. So why weren't there more choices?
ReplyDeleteLet the people decide!
I would opine that by Councilman Michael De Fusco, who is also a current member of the Hoboken Planning Board, officially and publicly went on record to promote a developer's (Dell'Aquila) project who may have made political contributions to him would forever mean he must recuse himself from any further official business that developer or any and all financial entity he is involved. Mr. Dell'Aquila, I believe has other properties in Hoboken that are in the process or could soon be in front of both the Planning and or Zoning Boards.
ReplyDeleteAnd with all that, he still felt empowered to go after Holtzman. The Dell'Aquilla's are infamous property owners in Hoboken. No wonder Mikie likes them.
