Well, it appears that The United States of America v Lizaida Camis has shone a bright light on  the campaigns of several current Hoboken City Councilmen. Three in particular: Ruben Ramos, Mike DeFusco  and Michael Russo.

Why them?

Because the most recent campaigns of each:  2017 for DeFusco and 2015 for Ramos and Russo, show an unusually high number of workers generally paid the same increment.  Incredibly, Councilman Russo ran an uncontested race in 2015 so why did he need 244 paid campaign workers?

The 2013 Camis complaint illustrates the alleged practice under scrutiny now: payment to voters who cast mail-in-ballots, then reporting the disbursements to ELEC as campaign work, canvassing  GOTV, etc., and the voters as workers, although the persons paid did no actual work. Except for selling their vote. Allegdly.

On Monday, GA discovered an unusually high proportion of Mike DeFusco's paid mayoral campaign workers (eligible to vote in Hoboken) requested mail-in-ballots-- nearly 7 times the proportion of VBMs DeFusco received citywide.

What about the 2015 campaign of Ruben Ramos? And Michael Russo?

Stay tuned.

  2. Camis also worked for Ramos in his 2011 Assembly primary (Ravi was his opponent).

It's not exactly a secret which Hoboken campaigns relied on buying votes rather than earning them.

The either have or will have (after Camis flips) a clear window into what has been happening. The only question is who left a strong enough (beyond reasonable doubt) trail to be charged.

The initials M.C come to mind (in my opinion) as an obvious next tier. Then from there, who knows.

  3. let’s see if any of the fake dems on msv have any problem with the boo-hooing over brett kavanaugh. don’t hold your breath. ravi-bashing is more important to them than putting a potential sex offender and someone who says roe v wade isn’t settled law on th sc.
