Looking for HUB (Hudson Ultra Bar)...

With all the articles published about those videotaped sex acts which took place on September 8th in Hudson Ultra Bar (HUB), not a single one identifies HUB's owner.  The owner of the liquor license, yes.

While it has been widely reported that the license is owned by one individual: HFD Battalion Chief Mario Fini, a current NJ Division of Revenue and Business Service's  status report  shows that Teak on the Hudson LLC has not one, but three Principals:

TEAK ON THE HUDSON LLC
BUSINESS STATUS REPORT

So the bar's license is owned by "Teak on the Hudson LLC"  which has 3 Principals.

But who or what entity owns Hudson Ultra Bar?

GA searched NJ Division of Revenue and Business Service's Business Gateway using any combination of keywords- I couldn't  find it, maybe you can:   https://www.njportal.com/DOR/BusinessNameSearch/Search/Keywords . I thought that Hudson Ultra Bar might come up in a search of Teak on the Hudson LLC's Principals...

...Nope.

Well, getting to the (bare) bottom of how this happened in our city is a matter of public interest and public concern.

Hoboken residents should know how a Hoboken bar-restaurant business that had monthly "Slut-Whisperer" appearances operated under the radar for so long, that is, until viral videotaped sex acts integrated into a "Slut Whisperer" Kirill performance blew up the internet-- and Hoboken's relatively clean image.  Kirill, who had been booked by HUB a number of times since 2017, photographed and poured champagne over the unidentified woman as her unidentified friend posed her for Kirill's camera (pulling her legs open) touching her as the crowd watched. Yes, people. HUB booked a guy named "Slut Whisperer" whose act includes putting "Kirill was Here" stickers on womens' bare breasts and butts, interacts with the crowd with dildos, and splashes "sluts" with  champagne...  and  HUB booked this guy over and over again...

And no one has stepped up to take responsibility. No one 'owns' this mess. The damage will not be permanent, but until the problem is adjudicated somewhere there is no closure for residents and the public at large who wonder, "How could this happen in Hoboken?"

Anonymous Facebook apologies don't cut it.

  1. According to the Alcohol Beverage Control Handbook:

CAN A LICENSEE ALLOW SOMEONE ELSE TO USE THE LICENSE TO OPERATE A BUSINESS?
No. The person who operates the business must be an actual disclosed licensee (who has at least a one percent interest) to whom the license was issued. It is a serious violation for a licensee to lease or “farm out” the license to anyone else. (N.J.S.A. 33:1-26.)

So, therefore the owning and operating entity IS Teak on the Hudson, LLC. which is not surprising since the 2016 news item about the auction of Teak's fixtures also included the info that the business itself was not for sale. So the sign on the door changed but it's the same liquor license and same business ownership.
