  1. I wonder how long it will take for "you know who" to freak out and suggest this establishment get a slap on the wrist and a token fine.

    1. Is this it all part of the "vibrant night life" he would like to see in other parts of Hoboken ?

  2. another black eye for the 1st ward councilman, who has been invisible on the topic since it surfaced days ago. kick 'em out (both HUB and the councilman).

  3. Not sure if its true but I heard the Hub is owned by a Hoboken fire captain.

  4. Where can I find out what allegedly went on in there?

Also, I love the moniker "the slut whisperer." What female in her right mind goes somewhere promoted by that guy? Ladies, respect yourselves. Slutwhisperer is NOT your friend.

  5. from Hoboken reddit: "The owner, Mario Fini, is a Battalion Chief with the city’s fire department. He also owns a property company, Maridian Properties. It’ll be interesting how the city responds to one of their high ranking leaders permitting this sort of behavior to go on despite the mayor’s attempts to crack down on nuisance bars."

  6. Here is the facebook page for the bar (please note: they don't promote this type of behavior, but Kirill is known for his champagne showers & his rep is all about girls gone wild)

    1. Right? So they don't promote this behavior but they booked a guy known for it. Also, they make their waitresses dress like showgirls. Yes, this was totally a surprise.

    2. All bullshit. "The individuals were escorted out?" Yeah, after the show was over. Video doesn't lie. The HPD must have reams of it. Were they called? Apparently not.

    3. they absolutely allowed and permitted it to happen. no one stopped it in progress, the only reason they got in trouble is because people posted video online the next day. plus, they've booked this guy in the past. total BS.

  7. It's all gross, but what was the crime, was someone actually assaulted, or was it consenting adults who are now facing public lewdness charges?

Seems like it's a pop-up wanna-be occasional sex club competing with the Zoo Lounge and the rub & tug places proliferating around our area, but there may not be a happy ending for them.

Keeping the 1st ward free of these activities is such a grindr.

    1. I saw the video - sent from a friend who lives out of state. Apparently, the video has seen wide spread distribution and there are many people out there who think that this incident is representative of Hoboken's reputation as a party town. There is nothing on the video that can charitably be described as "sex". It is a depiction of nothing more than the vile degradation of a young woman who is obviously too drunk to consent to anything that is being done to her. Foreign objects and digital penetration by random guys has nothing to do with sex; it is nothing more than criminal abuse. I have read some comments on line that slut shame the young woman. Beyond disgusting.

While I don't like and have an issue with many of the young women that I see on the weekends who get overly intoxicated and have often observed that they are putting themselves in a vulnerable position to be taken advantage of by jerks (and, yes, criminals like the men who were the abusers Saturday night), that in no manner condones or excuses or justifies their behavior. Speaking as a man, the actions depicted by the alleged "men" in the video are, IMO, the acts of insecure, desperate, amoral and criminal jackasses. They deserve anything and everything that may be a consequence of their actions. I am sorry to say, but I don't think that the owner has any business owning a liquor license anywhere in Hoboken after this incident (I understand that he may own other bars). That may be tough, but a liquor license is actually a license that is given by the City to an individual who is supposed to understand that they have to be responsible for the safety of their customers who often become vulnerable because of the liquor that the bar is selling (for a profit). Obviously, the owner has some problems understanding his obligations, IMO. She is someone's daughter and I doubt that she started out the evening thinking that she was going to a public bar where she would be sodomized in front of a bar full of patrons. Am I the only one who remembers "The Accused"?

    2. I completely disagree with the assertion that she was too drunk to consent. How can you tell that from a video? Was she falling over? Did her head roll over to the side?

Just because you don't think a woman could be that big of a pig deliberately doesn't make it so. If the TV show "The Jersey Shore" taught me nothing else, it taught me that there is no limit to how far a person will debase themselves for attention.

    3. I've been checking online about this "Slut Whisperer" since yesterday... apparently he is famous on the club circuit, gets hired for parties by celebrities, and was featured on a Showtime program called "3AM." He actually has a following. People prob come to his gigs to see him pour champagne on women ("champagne facials") and coax them to undress. Presumably everybody's drinking. A real sick, perverse sub-culture, IMO. Amazing how women debase themselves, drunk or not. No way in Hell that HUB hired this guy (more than once) without knowing his shtick. Nobody in the bar was watching to stop things if they got out of control? Or was "out of control" the goal of the night?

This is a huge embarrassment for Hoboken.

    4. Rumor has it (and I will reveal my sources to you if you'd like) that the woman in the video is either married to or in a relationship with her "digital penetrator" and they announced they were about to do what was shown on the video.

    5. So this was a planned sex show? Gross for a public venue and if that is true no excuses for all involved.

  8. Place is a disgrace. Should go back to the old venue that was there. The one owner was there and allowed it to happen . The security is horrible. They should have overruled the owner and stopped this.

  9. Hoboken going down hill. That place should be completely changed again. Horrible .

  10. Hi Grafix, how could one obtain these types of police reports? I thinking they are open to the public, but do you need to go to the precinct to get it? Does it cost money to request them?

    1. Hi, All Zun. You mean the above? It's a press release-- free of charge. No need to go to the precinct. HPD sends them out.
