Way to go, Hoboken Police Department! (2018 crime rate down 10%)

Thank you, Hoboken Police Department!

HPD Chief Ferrante balked at GA putting him in a Superman outfit because "It's not just me, all 166 employees are a part of it."

Okay, Chief... gotcha!  But it'll take GA into next year to Photoshop all 166 HPD employees in Superman costumes.  They deserve it, though. Because like you say, every employee of the Hoboken Police Department owns the results of hard, often dangerous, work. And the results are in: the crime rate in Hoboken is down an astounding 10%.

Now Chief is going to walk us through the report, which covers Hoboken crime stats from January - June 2018, and compares them with the same 2017 time frame.
"On the first page you will see our year to date crime rates where we have decreases in 10 of 13 areas with a total crime rate decrease of 10% year to date and a violent crime rate decrease of 4% year to date."

"The second page shows our closure/arrest rate where Hoboken PD exceeds the state averages in 6 of 7 areas, including tripling the state arrest rates in the areas of Robbery and Burglary. For the first 6 months of 2018, the Hoboken Police Department has closed by arrest, 219 of our 671 crimes, for an astounding 32.6% total closure rate."

"Closure" means case closed by arrest; basically, the perpetrators were caught and arrested and charges were filed to the courts.  The HPD's closure rates are impressive.

Last words from the Chief:
"I thank and commend our Uniformed, Investigative and Training Bureaus, and those bureaus’ commanders, supervisors, detectives, patrol officers, and civilian staffs!"
Very nice.

Thanks again to our men and ladies in blue, all of their support staff and... what Chief said!

  2. He’s done a great job. The butt hurts threw a lot of shade at him about the flyer, but they threw shade at everyone but themselves. He’s kept the PD above all the junior high political stuff.

  3. Yes kudos to Chief Ferrante for his professionalism as the juveniles on the City Council, led by Mike Developer $$$ DeFusco tried to make a political circus out of a serious investigation.
