BoE Split Ticket: MAK, it is

Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

Feeling crabby that Madigan's on our ticket? Me, too.

But not crabby enough to turn this election into a referendum on who agrees with that decsion and who doesn't.  Oh, hell no.

Hoboken has 2,000 kids to educate, a district to run, so we are not going to punish children for adult choices. Not a choice I like. But its not about me and its not about you, its about them.

That's why GA is thankful there are (3) superbly qualified candidates running for our school board next November... only they're split between two tickets: Malani Cademartori, Ailene McGuirk and Tom Kluepfel-- 'MAK' for short.

K-luepfel (Tom)

People, be angry but don't turn away from folks who've worked so hard and in good faith for the Hoboken district. Ask for an explanation.

GA got an explanation.  We all deserve one.

And on that note: oyasumi nasai.

  1. would it be possible for you to please share the explanation, GA? I don't know tom or the others personally so can't ask but need to know what's up here.

    1. I can tell you what I 'heard' (interpretation) in what I heard.

(1)I think they're burned out on the nastiness of the political battle to win an election, based on their previous experience and perhaps the 2017 mayoral race. Madigan was running no matter what.
      (2) Running against Madigan means realistically we could lose people-- remember Madigan and Montgomery clobbered Sheillah Dallarah and Addys Velez on VBMs. That was Ruben, Russo and Pupie helping in the 4th Ward. DeFusco helped the Madigan ticket in the First. DeFusco was friendly with Britney at that time. Assume Ruben and Russo are supporting Madigan.
      (3) Since Biancamano left, Madigan is a much 'better' board member and people are able to work with him now. He's not actively obstructing the majority or pulling stunts.
      (4) They aren't thrilled- some board members opposed-- and know theyre going to take big political hits. None of the Reform BoE members like politics, nor want to play politics, are "not political."

That's what I heard. Now, they will have to explain the move to their friends and supporters.

And, if you read between the lines maybe this tactic will facilitate the results we want.
