TONIGHT 6PM: Interfaith Prayer Vigil "because separating children at our borders is inhumane"

Please join tonight's 6 PM Interfaith Peace/Prayer Vigil at the Sinatra Park Amphitheater where Hoboken residents will gather to pray for:
  • protection for immigrants and their children
  • the safe return of children to their parents
  •  empowerment of people of faith and others to speak out boldly against this injustice
  • our representatives to find the moral courage to overturn inhumane immigration policies

We'll also will hear from Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Deacon Jill Singleton, The Lighthouse at Incarnation and St. Paul’s in Bergen, Jersey City.  The Deacon will give us in information about asylees, refugees, and how our community can help.

Tonight's full program is below.

Thank you, Cristin Cricco-Powell, my neighbor and the organizer of tonight's service.

Thank you, Hoboken Democratic Committee for the work you've been doing behind the scenes to  find out what all of us can do individually and collectively to aid families in this humanitarian crisis.

This letter circulated among HDC members has more information about how you can help.

GA'S TWO CENTS
Trump's "zero tolerance" policy has orphaned 2,300+ children and thousands more have been lost from their parents in the U.S. Deportation system;  at least 5,000 lost children languish in foster care because their parents were detained/deported by ICE. One in four deportees have U.S.-born kids and face total loss of parental rights.

Trumps brutal "zero tolerance" family separation policy didn't come from nowhere.  It is a natural progression in our immigration policy that cares nothing about protecting children, and takes ZERO responsibility and accountability for the aftermath of forced seperation.

Tonight Hoboken will stand together in love, support and unity for these families.

The horror that all good Americans feel needs to be seen and heard, then felt on November 2018.
