Reading Jersey City tea leaves tonight

Some folks say that a reliable predictor of tomorrow's vote for HCDO Chair in Kearny will be what happens tonight in Jersey City when the Jersey City Democratic Committee (JCDC) meets.  Jersey City has 362 Dem committee members- about 40% of the HudCo total.

Said one observer: "If Fulop turns out his people tonight it looks good for Stack tomorrow"

The NJGlobe.com agrees with that assessment-- it's all up to Jersey City now-- in their article "Hudson Dem chair race is too close to call";

"The race will be won or lost in Jersey City, which has 362 of the 900 county committee seats.  Stack needs to keep DeGise under 100 to win, assuming turnout everywhere else is as expected. That won’t be easy...

DeGise needs near 100% turnout from her base towns.  She’ll get that in North Bergen, but not necessarily in West Hudson and Bayonne.  GOTV is in Stack’s wheelhouse, and it’s expected that his votes out of Union City and Hoboken will be out in force.  A secret ballot works to Stack’s advantage, Democrats say."

Quite the nail-biter!

EXPECTATIONS
Union City will deliver all 74 Dem Committee persons, and Hoboken is expected to turn out a majority of it's 80 committee members. The known unknown (channeling Donald Rumsfeld-- blech)  is Jersey City.

DIRTY TRICKS
Expect them.  BE EARLY.  A source who took a dry run today to Kearny High School (the place no one alive has ever heard of) reported that ALL access routes to the High School were closed except one, as follows:

Now, this could all change TOMORROW.  Maybe HCDO Chair Prieto is just f*cking with us. Bring your GPS and a backup GPS.

Again, plan to arrive EARLY.  Make sure your bus driver is not driving you to Delaware.  If the bus "breaks down" hop in an Uber.

This is what Hudson County war looks like.  Reports coming in... stay tuned.
