Third Ward Hoboken original, Luigi Percontino, made the following announcement yesterday on Facebook...
Confirmed. Luigi is serious. Yes, he is in the process of forming an exploratory committee, and will send out folks in pairs to knock on doors to poll. Luigi is doing this the smart way; don't listen to a roomful of friends--- take the temperature of strangers. If the results are encouraging...
Then incumbent Councilman Mike Russo will have at least one challenger... (what rhymes with "Luigi"?)
Luigi mentioned that he was contacted by 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, who invited Luigi to run on a slate with her, Jen Giattino and Peter Cunningham. Luigi is under the impression that the three of them are running sans DeFusco and Ramos as a "real" Reform slate. Fisher also told Luigi that Ravi was not running a 3 ward councilperson, implying that he would need someplace to land.
So I asked, "Would you run on a slate with Fisher, Giattino and Cunningham?"
"No," he said.
"Would you run on Mayor Bhalla's slate?"
Without missing a beat: "Absolutely!"
"If you are not asked to join Bhalla's slate, will you run as an Independant?"
"Of course!" Luigi replied.
There you go, folks. I can understand why Fisher, Giattino, Cunningham would not want to formalize their alliance with Ramos and DeFusco on a single slate. That would not please their base-- whatever is left of it. But, whether or not the "real reformers" are connected to the "real Dark Side" remains to be seen.

DeleteI'm sure there are candidates to run against the butt-hurts. The problem is that the butt-hurts will still run and may thus give the seat to the OG's. Or, if we end up having run-offs, they'll finish third but won't support reform in a run-off and may well support the OG's - as they have done with Defusco and Ramos all along.
DeleteFisher's horrendous showing in the HDC and failure to raise more than a carload for Degise is encouraging though. It's not a matter of how I feel about Degise or Stack, which is pretty moot. Just a gauge of her influence. Meager at best.

ReplyDeleteFunny thing, after this post went up a reliable source contacted me to say that Tiffanie had asked Ron Bautista to run on her slate "with Mike DeFusco!" So, Luigi, maybe you need to hook Tiffanie up to a lie detector -- just stand back so you dont get hit by shrapnel when it explodes. BOOM.
DeleteSpeaking of lying liars who lie... I hear that Cheryl Fallick was complaining online that she cannot read my Facebook posts because I blocked her. Yes, I blocked her. But I didnt block her Fair Housing account. She comes here through my Facebook link multiple times a day-- digital fingerprints do not lie! So sadly, I am still Haunted by the Ghost of Cheryl Present. For the record, the reason I blocked Cheryl is because she wears two faces and both of them lie. Yep, caught her saying rather disgusting things "somewhere" so I said "buh-bye."
They're all pathological liars. Anyone who still believes any of them deserves whatever they get.

DeleteOjo, she came here from my Facebook page 3 times today (I just checked)! So she is using her other account (Fair Housing) to haunt me. That is how I xaught her today in another insipid lie, complaining that she cannot read my Facebook page (because she's blocked.)
