Call to ACTION!!! Next week & weekend

Folks, we all thought that the Parkland school massacre was a tipping point for even the worst congressional obstacles to gunsense legislation.

But within weeks after Trump's (scripted) White House photo op with Parkland props...

Here he was.

Listen, the only way to protect our children and the public is to raise our voices as a nation and say ENOUGH, and the rest happens on Election Day.  Raising our voices means to be seen and heard.

We will be heard.  This movement will not stop until we can send our kids to school without fearing we may never see them again.  The clock is ticking until the next shooting, and the next..

So, GA will hand the mic to Emily Jabbour, the founder of the Hudson County Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gunsense In America. Emily will tell us about next week's events.

"In just one week, the Hudson County Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will kick off the start of Wear Orange weekend and recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day, June 1st.

Please join us for any or all of the events we have planned, as follows:

THURSDAY MAY 31 from 8-10 pm - Our first fundraiser! (GA note: zip over right after the Andy Kim fundraiser!)

Please join us at Northern Soul (700 1st Street) in Hoboken for a Night Out event with open bar, appetizers, and 3 hours of free parking!  To reserve a ticket, send $40 via Venmo to @no-so or via PayPal to northernsoulhoboken@gmail.com with a note "Moms Demand Action."  (You can also email me if you prefer an alternate payment method.)  Our special guest speaker will be Andy Kim, a #gunsense candidate running in NJ-3 up against the original co-sponsor of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity bill in Congress.

FRIDAY JUNE 1 at 4pm - Ceremony and rally at Hoboken City Hall as Mayor Bhalla signs a proclamation recognizing National Gun Violence Awareness Day.  Several survivors of gun violence will share their stories.  Please take a moment to RSVP here: https://northeast-moms.ngpvanhost.com/ngpvanforms/17353

SATURDAY JUNE 2 at 10am - Members of the Hudson County Chapter will gather at Hoboken City Hall to travel together to the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge for the annual Moms Demand Action March across the bridge, followed by a rally in Manhattan.  We have joined up with our friends from Little Hoboken blog to provide tshirts for everyone who joins - to reserve a spot and get a shirt, please let us know here.

SUNDAY JUNE 3 at 2pm - If a night out isn't your thing, come workout for a good cause as we Spin for Gun Safety at CycleBar Hoboken in the Monroe Center.  Childcare will be available and donations start at $25 for the 45 minute class.

Can't join us next weekend, but have 1 minute right now?  Forward this email to 5 friends to help us get the word out!  If you are planning to attend, tell your friends and ask them to join you!  Get on Facebook and tell your friends to join you!

Can't make it to an event, but have 5 minutes?  Please support the #NeverAgain Letter project started right here in Hoboken by a student.  Write a letter to your legislator about why gun safety legislation is important to you, write #NEVERAGAIN in the bottom right hand corner of the envelope and mail it on TUESDAY so that it will arrive in DC on National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

  • Senator Booker  359 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington DC 20510
  • Senator Menendez  528 Hart Office Building , Washington DC 20510)

THANK YOU for all your support of Moms Demand Action.  Remember that this movement is a marathon, not a sprint.  Every day we get another step closer to gunsense reforms. "

Many thanks,
Emily

  1. Thank you for that flattering picture of me, FAILING Grammar Avenger (which is a TERRIBLE name by the way).

Obviously my popularity is on the rise on all fronts, even here! Just check out at ex-democrat party member Councilbabe Tippy. Do you see her running the other way now that we are actively promoting the altest of alt-right conspiracy theories #TheStorm on Horse and (3) Friends? Hell no! She's totally on board. She's even thinking of using #TheStorm hashtag on her voluminous campaign literature on Horse and Friends! And be on the look out for #TheStorm branded real estate ads courtesy of our good friend Yappy! He's got the inside track with post-revolution home buyers looking for property recently confiscated from democrat party enemies of the state! That's some #ForwardThinking, Yappy!

Granted, left-wing publications like The National Review are still somewhat skeptical about #TheStorm. But we saw the same thing with Pizza-gate, which was tirelessly promoted on Horse and Friends long after centrists like Sean Hannity gave up on it.

But it's happening, baby! #TheStorm is real. Don't take it from me. Take it from Horse and Friends regulars Tippy #TheStorm Councilbabe and Yappy #TheStorm Real Estate Agent!

    2. #FakeNews! #Sad! #NeverHappened!

      Or the more everymannish...

Who among us hasn't paid 6 figures to a pornstar to keep her quiet about an affair that never happened?

I'm test-marketing both of those. Let me know if one is more effective than the other. Or is it a tie? Because I can use both. That's what I truly, truly, truly LOVE about the poorly educated....
