UPDATE: Overheard at Monday's Dem Committee meeting...

UPDATE:
Folks, an unwelcome visitor popped in last night- the serial spammer on Hudson County View.

Said spammer's recklessness continues to jeopardize our active appeal. He's really lost it. So, to answer the spurious claim that GA did not carry out due diligence prior to publishing the article below, I will prove the allegation false.

The spammer's spurious claim (about the original post) was: "This is more bullshit from Nancy and her hearsay of sources. Did Nancy actually do any actual due diligence before publishing? Of course not."

Ordinarily, GA wouldn't ignore this gnat. But, as stated, there is an active appeal in the background, and the foolish spammer's statements should be debunked. Contrary to the spammer's allegations:
(1) due diligence was exercised in obtaining facts;  not hearsay

(2) Witness' name was redacted to remain anonymous.
GA's inquiry to the witness, following up on a third party tip. (Source's responses are highlighted.)

Now, if anyone out there socializes with the spammer, he has already been told by others to reign in his reckless online behavior which was jeopardizing other people.  Does he need another reminder?

This dispatch came from a member of the Dem Committee who was in attendance on Monday night.

"[redacted] was sitting within earshot of Jen and Tiffanie. Nora DeBennedeto was speaking on behalf of the entire Executive Committee... and right while Nora is describing why the Chairwoman has to go, Jen says to Tiffanie,  "Fuck these people."

GA asked my Dem Committee source for [redacted's] contact info.  Just to confirm.

I reached [redacted ] and asked what he/she heard.

"Jen turned to Tiff and said, "Don't even respond.  Fuck 'em!"

That's different! A lesson about sources: trust but verify: "Fuck these people (Democratic Committee members) versus "Fuck 'em (Democratic Committee members).

Honestly, as a friend GA might have said the same thing, but...

As an elected official and a newly converted Democrat, the sentiment, "Fuck 'em!" is not brimming with respect for the Democrats on the committee nor their right to voice a lack of confidence in Fisher's leadership.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T...

Try sign language next time!

  1. I'm so sorry she wasn't elected mayor. What a missed opportunity to have a true stateswoman and uniter running the show.

  2. Colorful language aside, Giattino was giving Fisher sound advice. She should have followed it. I always thought that if Giattino had listened to herself more and to Fisher and Lenz less she would have gotten more votes.

    1. If she hadn't listened to those two, she likely never would have run. She had no chance, none what so ever. She lacks the experience, the skills, the knowledge and was running against a competent, well-informed reformer who we all trust far more than a noob. Noobs only have a chance when they are running against scumbags and we are fed up w/ the scumbags. Can't elect a noob against someone like Ravi.

And Jen is doing nothing to show she will be anything but a noob forever.

  3. The great irony is Jen is a Republican, Tiffanie was a Democratic chair working to elect a Republican, while both took cues from Lenz, a professional public-trough piggie, which is supposed to be the main thing Republicans are against.

This is the real reason these people are so toxic -- they stand for nothing. Nothing at all. And despite their self-delusions, we all see right through them.

See ya in November 2019, suckers.

    1. I don't think that's fair. ego gratification and the pursuit of power are not nothing. They are not what elected officials ought to stand for, but those things are something, not nothing.

  4. I'm not at all offended by Jen's comment. She was there to support a friend, isn't a member of the committee, and isn't even really a Democrat. She also has no personal knowledge regarding the truth of the accusations made against Tiffanie, and just knows whatever her friend told her. It was also kind of brave of her to go to that room knowing that almost everyone there opposed her campaign for mayor and probably doesn't want her reelected. So she has no reason not to use salty language in defense of her friend.

What is offensive is the email Tiffanie sent to the committee members just prior to the meeting, and the argument she used against her removal. She stated that she believed that she could not be removed from office by ANY means at all, regardless of the size of the majority in favor of her removal- even if it were unanimous! This wasn't a mere objection to the notice provided, or some technicality- she said that she couldn't be removed, full stop. And it's not like she softened that by saying that while she couldn't be legally forced out (according to her unnamed lawyer's unsupported BS analysis), she would respect the wishes of the committee and resign if voted out by a majority, or supermajority, or whatever. No, she said that she could not be removed, and would not be removed.

So without using a curse word, even before they voted, Tiffanie essentially told committee members to go 'eff themselves. She said that she didn't serve them with their confidence and support, but instead was entitled to remain their leader, whether they liked it or not, whether she did a good job or not, and no matter what she might do or say to cause the committee trouble or embarrassment.

If anyone had any doubt as to whether Tiffanie needed to be removed, her final argument- "you can't remove me!"- should have eliminated it.

    3. Stay the fuck off this blog, Fruit-Loops. You've got some nerve. You BLOCK me from posting on your ghost site, spam John Heinis site with dozens of insipid, loony personal insults directed at yours truly--then think you are welcome to spew your dreck here? You are a colossel fool. Good riddance, horse turd.

    5. 5 talking points and 2 dozen insults do not form an argument.

The same can be found all over Hudson County View, which this "commenting style" - and far, far worse on HCV - has reduced to an even more appalling version of Patch. A smoking pile of unreadable, adolescent trash from people with vastly more anger than sense, maturity, or communication skills. There are literally no adult replies to anyone who honestly believed Fisher needed to be replaced. None.

Over time the failure to form a coherent argument -- preferring instead outings (which I will no doubt receive yet again for this comment), puerile insults and expressions of how disgusted you all are -- becomes and admission that no such argument is possible.

So shoot the messenger. And talk about the messengers's home, physicality. Project the messenger kneeling in front of your hobgoblins. And then say it is the messenger who is disgusting. Not the obsessive projectionist.

And the Ravi-bot thing is just tiresome. You know better. Or at least you used to. These are articulate free-thinkers. That's what's scary about them. They all used to be on your site. Either they all had their brains removed or something else changed.

You find yourself in the same position Lane et al. were in when everyone abandoned Beth. They all went from being good people who supported Beth to scoundrels who didn't -- because he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that Beth was the problem.

So he promoted the idea of a Zimmer cult of personality. It made no sense. The whole appeal of Zimmer --which you may recall from before you decided she was evil-- was that she'd never have anything like a cult of personality. Reform had too many large egos and personality differences to insist on everyone subsuming themselves to a demigod. But that's the best poor Lane could come up with in lieu of facing the reality of the situation.

His Zimmertinis, your Ravi-bots. Same delusion, different day.

    6. True, Dang. Regular commenters that abandoned MSV are all here, and then some. Seems he thinks he owns local online discourse, and can bully other voices like mine with name calling, fat shaming, personal attacks. All projection, as you say. He's lost every marble in his head. Roman's spam- dozens of posts on hcv- is positively deranged.

    7. So they let a DINO in the room? And Tiff didn't freak out? I thought Tiff and that doofus that counts votes kicked non-members out of the room during meetings. How hypocritical of them. Also how typical of them to be hypocrites.

    8. Yes, why was Giattino even there? She's not a member of the committee, and she's not really a Democrat, and even if she were, it's not open to the public.

    9. Well as we have seen w/ that crew, they care not about the rules when it is politically inconvenient for them to follow the rules.

The sooner they are voted out, the better.

It's a shame that this is what the online Hoboken political blogosphere has come to. :(
