Holy cow. It's one thing to lie in conversation ("I love your hat!"), another to lie in print ("I miss you, come back soon!") But only the truly shady, the con man, the bullshitter, would use the press to disseminate a lie to the public.
Hence, my shock that Peter Cunningham of all people built his press release today around an easily disproven, verifiably false statement. Cunningham tells the lie for the purpose of trying to get media coverage of the text exchange between Mayor Bhalla, his brother, Amar, and a third person.

THE LIE
So how does GA know that Peter Cunningham is lying like a rug?
Because, when GA saw these texts published on Brice's land of Make-Believe (about 2 weeks ago) GA requested a copy of the original text exchange- in full. I was concerned that the Land of Make Believe had photo-shopped or edited the original thread to alter it's meaning.
Let's face it. The Brice of yore is gone. His pod-creature replacement does not fact-check.
So yes, GA has the original text messages that Peter falsely claimed in his press release "were sent and accidentally received by him."
And when GA shows you the truth you will learn:
(1) that the third party on the text message was not Peter Cunningham
(2) how cheap a shot Peter Cunningham took at the mayor- probably coordinating with the whole Banana Council- trying plant false information in the press.

The thread originated on Tuesday, Jan 30, 2018. Amar initiated it to Ravi and a third person. The third person was Jen Giattino's running mate, Jason Ellis.
Personally, I think it was a scumbag move to leak a guy's personal text to the universe; my understanding was that Jason Ellis was a friend of Amar's prior to the election-- or else their families were.

Would you be surprised if I told you someone sent me a misfired text from Jen Giattino, intended for someone close to her? Yes, I have a misfired Giattino text. Will I publish it? NO. Unlike the unscrupulous Jason Ellis, I will not abuse anybody's personal text messages, messages not intended for me. Did I say that pimping Amar's misfired text was a scumbag move?
Anyway, here is the evidence that Peter Cunningham lied to the press. And, let me remind you AGAIN what a scumbag move it is to pimp a guy's private text messages with his brother, for God's sake.
My favorite line in Peter's email is toward the end where he says "don't be concerned with my actions on the City Council."
ReplyDeleteBasically his message to angry constituents is "I know you have concerns about my new role as Mike DeFusco's "yes man' but I'm a great guy so you should just trust me."
Good luck selling that to angry constituents who, whether you like it or not, are extremely concerned with your actions on the City Council.
I do not trust this man at all. He has done nothing productive since last summer and each move he makes that puts him in alignment with DeFusco, Ramos and the rest of the gang makes me like him less and less each day. Scott Delea would have been a better CC member and that is a very low bar to meet.

His concerned constituents may need a refresher on the time he appointed this bundle of joy to a board seat in a backroom deal alleged to have clinched Russo and Castellano's votes for Soares for the NHSA and the Fox Hill Gardens voting bloc for his re-election.

In a more recent example, Cunningham reportedly agreed to support Raia for NHSA in exchange for Raia's assistance in Peter's 2015 race. That's why he voted for Raia's over Kurt Gardiner - he was keeping his word to Raia in case he needed to cut another deal in the future.
DeleteOf course in hindsight, Raia was probably the better choice. After all, he was far more knowledgeable and experienced than Kurt so was entitled to be reappointed. Just like Lenz and Fallick.

ReplyDeleteOf course the other choice, could be working cooperatively. No one seems to be making that choice. During the summer I had wondered aloud if anyone could be the adult in the room. I was hoping that would be Peter. I thought he had more character than the others. Maybe not.
This is a poor choice on his part, and now we’re finding out he’s made other much more consequential poor choices. As I recall, Camporeale was also a thorn in the education reformers side too. May be this is why he won’t speak up on voter fraud.

What an asshole. Sending copies of private text messages to constituents like a smitten 12 year-old who couldn't get a seat at the "cool girls" table? I hope the taxpayers didn't have to shoulder any of the cost for this petulant stunt.

Becoming a Democrat in name only, "DINO", to remain electable, says all you need to know about Cunningham's ethics, morals and standards. In other words, Republican. The fact that he was able to convince Giattino to do the same says all you need to know about hers.
