NJ Transit to dishonor Martin Luther King Day

Today, many Americans wake up with the knowledge that their ancestors came from "shithole countries."

And if your ancestors came to the U.S. from Africa via the genocidal slave trade,  not only were they taken from a "shithole"continent, they were captured from one of its many "shithole countries." Generations upon generations were denied basic human rights of freedom and self-determination, families split and their dignity robbed at the end of a whip or pistol or on the auction block. The legacy of this cruel injustice, this genocide, permeates every facet of life for descendents from these "shithole countries."

In light of yesterday's admission from America's "leader" that Americans whose roots are in "shithole countries" who are less welcome here that white-skinned Norwegians, we know that the inside of Trump's melting pot is white

So, Monday is Martin Luther King's birthday, a federal holiday. No matter who you are or where you come from, every American understands that we all live in a better world because of the moral authority, the rightness, the goodness and the leadership of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, and his dream.

Really, the timing couldn't be better, because on Monday we get to remember who we are, a nation shaped by the aspirations of Martin Luther King, fighting for a more perfect union, a dream. NO we aren't there yet; but we are closer.

If we allow The Nightmare to swallow The Dream we are lost.

Americans have to think about this on Monday; who we are and who we want to be, and the example of the great American, Martin Luther King.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” - Martin Luther King

And so...

GA was floored to learn that a public agency, New Jersey Transit, picked Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday to meet to purchase the UDD site from NY Waterway.

NJ Transit is funded by public money.  Our money: descendants of slaves, people from "shithole countries" and Norweigans.  The whole beautiful melting pot.

So really, what a "shithole" maneuver, to push this sneaky deal through on the birthday of Martin Luther King.

Disgusting. Dishonorable. Dare I say, Trumpian
