Reform SELL-OUTs: Giattino, Fisher & Cunningham

Look who's joined the Dark Side...

Boy, wasn't last night's Council meeting something else?

SHUT-OUT: GIATTINO, RAMOS, FISHER, DEFUSCO, CUNNINGHAM DID NOT INCLUDE JABBOUR, DOYLE ON DECIDING ANY ZBA, PLANNING, NHSA AND COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS

Hey Ruben, don't piss on our legs and tell us it's raining.

Last night, experienced bullshitter Ruben Ramos talked a good game about working cooperatively with the Bhalla administration, knowing that he, Jen Giattino, Tiffanie Fisher, Mike DeFusco, and Peter Cunningham excluded Bhalla's At-Large candidates from any input or discussion about Zoning Board, Council.

That's what liars do. Like Ramos said in 2007, "you can't legislate character."

But you can legislate a dirty backdoor deal.  A backdoor quid pro quo to give Giattino the VP slot, Jim Aibel on the Zoning Board in exchange for Ramos at the Council helm, DeFusco on the Planning Board (booting Jim Doyle), 2 ZBA picks, and booting Brian Assadorian off the NHSA for Tony Soares.

The appointments went so fast- the back door choreography was executed as though they'd had dress rehearsals beforehand.

The only nomination made by a "Bhalla" At-Large Councilperson was Jim Doyle- he nominated Brian Assadorian, after Jen Giattino nominated Tony Soares. Oops!  That wrecked the Dark Side ballet.

No matter, because Ramos would did not give the incumbent Assadorian the courtesy of calling a vote for him. Ramos called the vote for Soares FIRST.  So, not only was the incumbent NHSA commissioner denied the courtesy of a vote, but he was denied an explanation of why he was being replaced.

Know what really disgusted me?

Not a single Councilperson who pushed out Brian Asssadorian had the class or the courtesy to thank him for his years of service on the NHSA.

Folks, I could go on about this. I could go on about the betrayal of SELL-OUT reformers making deals to put Mike DeFusco of all people on the Planning Board- Mike DeFusco who served on the ZBA, and never saw a variance he didn't like.  Mike DeFusco, the developers' friend.

THIS is who Giattino, Fisher and Cunningham put on the Planning Board. Instead of Jim Doyle.

You read that correctly.

Giattino, Fisher and Cunningham PUSHED Jim Doyle off the Planning Board for pro-development Michael DeFusco.

Yep, Last night was a pogrom of sorts- a purging of Zimmer/Bhalla administration officials from power, replacing them with "friends"- exactly how the Old Guard rolls.

No more merit hires with this crew. Folks, all I can tell you is Jim Doyle and Emily Jabbour need our support.  They are very much alone up there. It is hostile territory, scorched earth governing.

And who has enabled it? The new Dark Side membership.

Well, you've probably heard by now, but Doyle and Jabbour abstained on voting for Ramos (Council President)Giattino (Council VP), Aibel (ZBA), voted "no" for Soares (NHSA), DeFusco (Planning), Ann Graham (ZBA) and "yes" for Grana (ZBA), Firestone (ZBA), Johnson (ZBA).

Oh, yes. The vote to approve the Ordinance on putting run-offs on the ballot was approved unanimously.

Finally, during New Business, Ramos asked Chief Ferrante for an update on the "Terrorism flyer investigation" and boy, oh boy... that deserves it's own post.

Let's just say we now all know that DeFusco's detective gave the HPD GARBAGE, that the HPD spoke to all campaigns, campaign managers, and some bloggers (plural)- and took a shot at one (not me!).

That's all I've got to say for now.

  1. I guess Perry BelFiore found his Plan B.

Have to hand it to DeFusco he did what Cammarano wanted to do and stack the ZBA and Planning Boards to cater to developers profit margin even while losing the election.

Can you say more and higher skyscrapers on the NJT property ?

Now if only they had a willing real estate agent...

    1. Bingo. But he couldn't have done it without his SELL-OUT enablers.

  2. looks like "reform" won the battle (ravi victory as mayor) but lost the war...and lost it by shooting themselves in the head. wtf? it's infuriating that one of these sell outs is my councilperson, who will get an earful from me and others the next time we see them on the street. these sell outs need to be confronted and asked to publicly defend their actions here. can't wait until they are all up for reelection and get the boot.

  3. btw, here's all you need to know (from hudson country view: http://hudsoncountyview.com/hoboken-council-names-ramos-new-president-giattino-vice-president/):

"Prior to the vote, Hoboken resident Cheryl Fallick said she felt Soares was the best fit for the NHSA.

“Tony Soares is a friend of mine and I know him to be a smart, caring and proactive person,” Fallick began.

“I know the fact that he’s my friend has nothing to do with this, but aside from that, when Mr. Soares was on the sewerage authority – he was for quite a few years – the things I heard was he was very proactive, he was very responsive to all calls and very much participated in the meetings.”

    1. Cheryl Fallick is an idiot. You don't put the person who helped screw up the water contract and toss a ticking time bomb in the lap of taxpayers in charge of the sewer authority. And being an ass kisser is not what I consider necessary qualification. That does seem to be her #2 attribute she looks for in people she supports. Anyone that kisses her ass enough gets her vote.

Thank God she isn't an elected official. Every special interest in town would be kissing her ass for special treatment.

    2. Sometimes if you kiss enough people on the butt you can get them to create position a taxpayer paycheck for you.

    3. That is exactly the wrong sort of person to put in any taxpayer funded position. But I suppose some long time Hoboken residents who are dumb enough to fall for this routine never learn. Last night is proof positive of that.

  4. Another correction Emily and Jim did NOT vote in favor of Giattino. They voted the softer version of 'no' (present).

Wow based on the chart; the biggest developer yes-man was Cohen. Guess everyone is super happy that he was tossed from the zoning board.

    1. Cohen wasn't up for a vote so who gives a crap?

As for Giattino, thanks for the correction. I thought it particularly objectionable that they might have given her a yes vote given her recent shitty performance. Sellouts don't deserve the support of real reformers.

    2. Yeah? I was told by someone who was present at the meeting that both voted in the affirmative for the CVP- will confirm.

I wish they had abstained. Why cast a vote for someone who shut you out of the deliberations? Don't you agree, Indie? Why didn't your friends include Jim and Emily? Sounds like a power grab to me. A SELL OUT power grab. That's not a real good way to start.

These are the same crybabies that whined about not being invited to the Executive Order signing? Looks to me like they are reaping what they have sown.
