"Assadourian is out at NHSA"

That unequivocal statement came from a source outside of Hoboken, who'd read my Earwitness Rumor.

When I pressed for details, the source said,  "Promised I wouldn't say anything...  I'll just add that as of today, there's zero shot Brian has the votes."

And because this person is plugged in, that is solid confirmation that an anti-Bhalla purge of qualified public servants in favor of "friends of ours" is well underway.

This alleged merger between the Dark Side, Ruben Ramos, and embittered "Reform" Council President Jen Giattino to fire a good public servant, Brian Assadourian without cause and replace him with a friend of the DeFusco campaign, is supported by sources in and out of Hoboken.

I'll repeat what another source gave me yesterday:
I can't be the source for this as I'm giving up a confidence, but I have it on excellent authority that Jen told Brian she'd be rethinking his appointment to the sewer authority when she ran into him campaigning pre-election. And this was said in front of Kurt.
Does anyone think this is about good government?  What's best for Hoboken?

Let's hear their explanation for canning a guy who's beyond the NHSA learning curve and working productively with other NHSA board members, a guy who represents our city with dignity and civility, a guy who looks out for Hoboken.

Why is Jen "rethinking" Assadorian?  What has he done wrong?

The friend of my enemy is my enemy.

Don’t look any deeper than that. They aren’t.

  3. If this is true, Jen has just proven why she never should be elected mayor. This sort of pettiness makes for horrible decision-making. Probably time for her to grow up already.

    1. I’m starting to think “Ravi was mean to me” butt-hurt is a red herring. They were going to do this regardless, especially Fisher. This is only the beginning. Before long it will be clear to everyone that this has nothing to do with a few snarky flyers. Fisher wants control. Giattino was a vehicle for that. She’s moving on to the next vehicle.

  4. i've said it before, worth repeating: time to get someone good lined up to run in the 2nd ward. tiff needs to go.

and considering how poorly jen did in her own ward in the mayoral election, she may be out next time around on her own accord.

    2. i've always liked peter, then he went off the rails a bit during the mayoral campaign. people of the 5th will be watching his votes and comments closely in the coming months. there's opportunity for him to get back on track, but also to go off the deep end in lockstep with queen laTIFFah. the choice is his to make.

    3. Well Peter will have gone off the rail big time if he votes for either of the two candidates rumored to be be running against Brian. Hell, if anyone gets his vote other than Brian, I'd have a problem with that. It is very obvious Jen and Tiff are playing HS games here and I have no tolerance for that. Anyone that sides w/ them needs to be booted off the CC ASAP - Peter included. Heck, Scott Delea wouldn't be much worse than a Tiff/Jen loving patsy in the 5th ward.

  5. If qualifications and merit are not good enough for them, Jen, Tiff, and Peter really have crossed over to the Dark side. I want to hear them articulate why anyone else is more qualified than Brian. They can’t do it.
