Silence of the Jen on Hoboken school FUNDING CUTS

In the chaos before election day, you may have missed an important Hoboken story in Hoboken Patch .

On Wednesday, in a statement to the Observer, NJ gubernatorial candidate Kim Guadagno singled out the Hoboken School District as a target of funding cuts should she be elected.

Hoboken's already under-funded district is at risk.  So are our free pre-k programs.

Yes, Kim Guadagno has hung has sword of Damocles over Hoboken district classrooms; we are on her radar.

GA wishes to thank Councilman Bhallla for bringing this to our attention, and promising to efend funding for Hoboken district schools and the continuation of free pre-K.

Have you heard a peep about this from Giattino? Or Romano? Or DeFusco?

This is one of those issues where one's political philosophy does matter.  Republicans support privatizing education (vouchers) and diverting funding away from public education- look  how Betsey DeVos wrecked public education in Michigan.

How come the only Hoboken mayoral candidate who spoke up for Hoboken district schools is Ravi Bhalla?

  1. You would think when a gubernatorial candidate makes a direct attack at Hoboken, Jen would finally come out against that candidate. Her silence is very telling. Guess she cares more about staying in the good graces of the party establishment than she does about the city she claims she loves.
