GA's BoE Ballot Guide

WHERE to find School Board candidates 5-6-7 on your ballot!

Hoboken voters are smart enough to navigate a ballot, but... with so much focus on the mayoral race,  peeps may forget to vote for School Board!  (Not you, I know. You would never do that. Somebody else would.)

So, it's our obligation to remind our friends and neighbors that the right side of the ballot is where Melanie, Sharyn, and Chetali ("Hoboken Proud") are waiting for your vote!

We need them on our School Board.

Melanie, Sharyn, and Chetali are Hoboken district activist parents, who didn't just discover the schools at election time. Together this team has a combined 50 years of leadership experience in finance, accounting and internal auditing.  Their children all attend the Hoboken Public School District, so they know first-hand about the progress, innovative programs, great teachers and administrators.

Melanie, Sharyn and Chetali's mission is to raise awareness of the great things happening across the district today and work with the administration on further enhancing education in Hoboken.

These gals believe that supporting Dr. Christine Johnson means supporting her with our words and actions.

They'll work constructively with the superintendent and the business administrator to build a fiscally responsible budget that will support district students, teachers, administrators, and facilities.

People, we need to vote OFF incumbent seat-warmer, oxygen-user Peter Biancamano.

Note, Biancamano was campaign manager for last year's Parents United  BoE slate. Don't you recall this notorious incident: Biancamano's operative pointed a flashlight into the eyes of Forward Together's Irene Sobolov and Jennifer Evans  when it was their turn to answer questions at the OLG debate!

Captain Flashlight stood directly behind his boss, Parents United campaign manager Peter Biancamano.

Biancamano has tried twice (and failed) to vacate his School Board seat for higher office.  He ran for City Council: in 2013 on the Occhipinti slate, and in 2015 for 2nd Ward Council.  He was happy to vacate his School Board position for higher office.

...and with Farmer Frank whose crop of VBMs made Biancamano the Harvest Queen of 2014.

Folks, Melanie, Sharyn and Chetali are cclean as a whistle, and want to earn your vote. Take a look (again at these ladies, and please remember to vote 5-6-7 on November 7th!

Not voting for Peter Biancamano. No way, no how, never again.

If you watch the board meetings, he always votes no on the minutes. Every single time. It’s like a running joke, the guy who can’t figure out how to approve the minutes of a meeting.

But then he always votes no on the budget, too. The budget that funds the district and three charter schools . . . every public school student in the city. He says he’s against tax increases. But listen to him now, how much he supports the superintendent, and supports charter schools. He won't take responsibility for the budget, but takes credit for the results. Such a political coward.

He’s already tried to get off the school board — twice — when he ran for city council in 2014 and last year. He has no real concern for education or interest in the school board. It’s just resume fluffing and politics to him. We need to do him a favor and help him get off the board by electing people who’ll give it the time and commitment it deserves.

  2. The Hoboken Team is tremendously qualified. They are exactly the type of professional, accomplished, honest leaders with children in the public schools that I want on the school board.
