UPDATED- Election Day tales from the field!

GA note: This post was edited per information provided by Roman Brice.  No formal retract request was received; rather a libelous rant in which Brice called GA a "flaming asshole" and made false and disparaging statements about my volunteer service that day,  which began at 6 AM and ended at 8:00 PM.

People, send me your election field reports: grafixavenger666@gmail.com!

I will keep updating this post, so check back!

MACHINE VOTE TOTALS IN 4-1!
Okay, people. Hot off the machines...

MACHINE #1

MACHINE #2

EXPLODING HORSE!
This update is from polling location 4-1.

As of 7:30, 353 voted here!

That is very high turnout for this polling location, which appears to be a trend, citywide. Who does such high turnout favor?

We'll find out soon!

Meanwhile, I couldn't help but notice that the photo taken in 220 Adams of a horse loitering in a polling location that he was assigned to Challenge in, well... cause a Horse-splosion.

Does he disagree with what witnesses have alleged-- that he talked to voters, tried to persuade them to vote for Jen Giattino?  I wasn't there.

In that angry rant, I didn't hear a denial. Did you?
No need to get mad at ME.

ALLEGATIONS OF ELECTIONEERING FOR GIATTINO INSIDE 220 ADAMS  POLLING LOTION (WARD 4- DISTRICT 7)
Witnessses alleged that a Giattino Challenger is loitering inside the polling location at 220 Adams.  The allegations are that the Giattino Challenger is asking voters who they are voting for and/or telling them to vote for Jen Giattino.  An irritated woman was alleged heard saying "None of your business!"

GA cannot confirm this 3rd party account, but the witness forwarded this photo to GA's source.

Boy, he looks glum! DId someone tell him what that Giattino would finish a distant Fourth place?

VOTE IN THE RAIN!
Okay people, do not let a few raindrops DOOM Hoboken to Mike DeFusco!  We need MASSIVE turnout to overcome the vote-buyers, North Bergen interlopers and Newark invaders! So, prepare yourselves for rain drops to hit you on the way to the polls this evening. Big deal! Worse things have happened to you! Worse things will happen to you if Mike DeFusco or Stick Romano become our next mayor.  And you can bet on that outcome if we don't get out the vote. Rain, shmain.

"ROMANO TEAM AWFULLY COCKY"
The Romano Team is reportedly saying there's "no way they can lose since they're outnumbering everyone in the streets." According to a source, "You gotta be worried with Fonseca bringing all of Newark over. Plus Russo's with them.

That is true.  Stick's got lots of help. But then, Beth Mason for Mayor rented help, too.

DeFUSCO'S EARLY CELEBRATION?
A Jackson Street resident sent me the following video with this message,

"I was woke after 1:30 AM today by shouting in the streets. It persisted. I looked out the window and it was Mike DeFusco and friends, drunk as skunks. I was groggy and slow to react.  The video missed the shouting part. What woke me- they were shouting my house address as they passed. I confirmed it with the front of my building.  They are all parents and over 40. 2-3 kids each.  It woke them up too. I don't think highly of Romano or Jen however, I'm certain they would never frolic through the neighborhood shouting, drunk as skunks. MDFis a kid.  The guy in the yellow sports coat is him".

IF BUSES COULD VOTE...
Witnesses report four silver Academy buses double-parked on Washington Street in front of DeFusco HQ... why four?  Why one

Calling Chief Ferrante!

MSV MISINFORMS PUBLIC!  NO "EXPLOSION" IN 6-5
MSV incorrectly reports an "explosion of hundreds of votes" in 6-5.  6-5 is GA's district.  There was no "explosion" just poll worker error.  How do I know?

This morning, I was shocked to be voter #532 at 9:40 AM!  When I inquired about it, a poll worker told me that they had made an error. She said, "Your number should be 232, not 532".   Apparently they started the day with the wrong book- "301" instead of "1".

Still the turnout is high; a good thing!  Keep it up. people!  Vote! Vote! Vote! Bring out your dead!

THE "JEN ARMY" MISBEHAVES!
MSV reported a "Jen Army... dozens of supporters"  a.k.a. "Reform Resistors" marched on City Hall last night.  Witnesses (and photos) reveal an "army" of  24; subtract the candidates, their spouses, their children, a few puppies, and what's left.... a supporter?  Maybe two?

Sources report the Army stopped in front of Bhalla HQ last night to jeer and wave their signs around. I hope the kids had fun.

TURNOUT: SO FAR, SO GOOD
Voter turnout is looking robust. Because of the reform SPLIT, we need great turnout to prevail over DeFusco or Romano.  Otherwise, it's all over, people... everything Reform has fought for these past 8 years.  So. please, get your friends and neighbors to the polls!

STREET PRESENCE
GA hears "Romano people are everywhere... and wherever you see a DeFusco person, you see a Romano."

Ravi people are out near polling places (GA haunted the Tea Building from 6AM-9AM). Jen people seems to be fewer in number but are out there.

Anybody else think Romano's sound truck is weird?

ROMANO HANGS SIGNS ON CHURCH PROPERTY

Hanging political signs on a house of worship is a big no-no. But Anthony Romano doesn't care; today, he hung a large campaign sign on Our Lady of Grace church property. Churches are tax-exempt non-profits, and not supposed to engage in political campaigning.
"The IRS would undoubtedly deem it an intervention in a political campaign--and potentially a basis for loss of exemption--for a church or any other Section 501(c)(3) charity to place election campaign signs supporting a candidate for public office on its property. A charity may not engage in any type of official organizational activity in support of or in opposition to any candidate for election at any level of government."
What Romano is doing here? He's sending a message to congregants, mainly 'Old Hoboken' residents- this is our town. Don't let them take over our town. Kinda like the message on the flyer...

MIKE DEFUSCO CHASED FROM CHURCH TOWERS BY RUSSO-ROMANO GANG
This morning, at around 10:45 AM, Mike DeFusco and his partner were hanging around Church Towers (5th and Grand street).  Suddenly, Mike Russo drove up with "about 15 Romano supporters" and surrounded DeFusco...  who got the  message and was replaced with Romano workers.

Comments

  1. The Pastor at OLG, Father Alex Santora, probably gave permission for Romano to do that. He's been a vocal opponent of the Zimmer administration in the past, not sure if you saw this: http://www.nj.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/08/bummed_out_over_bumpouts.html

    1. It's not Santora's permission to give.

    2. I totally agree. Just wanted to point out that this wasn't foisted on an unwitting and innocent church. This is some old school shit.

    3. Santora flouts the law on this all the time. Heck, he even has a column where he pushes his political agenda. The IRS needs to revoke their non-profit status.

  2. Jen says she has grassroots support but all I see are rent a kid door knockers. Ravi’s door knockers look like adult Hoboken resident volunteers. So much for grassroots support for Jen.

  3. 5 minutes ago, I was walking by Washington Street, past the DeFusco headquarters. A group of campaign workers were leaving, probably after lunch. One of them called out to the others "I'm just voting for whoever pays me the most" and the others laughed. True story.

  4. We already have two hard-hitting articles up on the Team GiaFusco Reform Resistance Website.

    1) Jen's team left HQ to canvass this morning.

    2) Lots of people voted at Jen's polling place.

Did we miss anything? Don't tell me someone else running?!?!?

Hey, when are you going to update your VBM analysis so we can publish another "Exclusive"?

  5. I voted today. I have seen ALOT of young kids with Romano signs, some Defusco signs on buildings, some Bhalla supporters with placards, and NO Giattino signs or humans, anywhere. Did she drop out?

  6. i truely believe i just witnessed electionnierring in progress! 220 adams. I think his name is Brice from horse. hes asking people Who they voted for. and Acting like he’s the authority

  7. I think the Horse realizes his secret crush J Gattino is going to lose, and he is having a nervous breakdown. He just vomited a screed calling this blogs owner some nasty names.

I cannot ever recall watching someone disintegrate so quickly and so publicly, and in the process lose some well earned respect derived from his excellent work exposing corruption amongst the old guard, with Mason, and her band of merry marauders.

Hopefully, at some point, the old horse can regain his balance, and return to the internet healed and whole, it is truly a shame to lose what was once a great and needed talent.

    2. Color me sentimental, but in Ye Olde Days, the two blogs worked together, to effectively stymie the Forces Of Evil. Can we go to the way back machine Mr Peabody, and return to that time? This present incarnation is just a shame. SAD.

  10. Wow, Horse seems to have just made a very bitter concession speech....

    Sikhing the Vote
Ravi Bhalla may be on the cusp of a mayoral win.

Waiting for more results but the big money and power made their effect and there's expectations of some result maybe soon.

The bottom line, the four way race where the money poured in to Hoboken by the hundreds of thousands of dollars for both the DeFusco and Bhalla campaign may see one the victor.

So we may be seeing the end of the Hoboken era of reform and sovereignty.
Hoboken will likely then be the tool of others combined with local ambitions.
