UPDATED- Tea Building Board's reversal on canvassing (within 24-hours)

Hoboken's beautiful Hudson Tea Building (1500 Washington Street)

Updated-
TWO HOBOKEN TEA BUILDING BOARD MEMBERS RESPOND
GA thanks the two Hudson Tea Building Board members who responded to this article earlier today,  providing the backstory for what transpired on October 19th and 20th.

Though one of the HTB Board members asked to remain anonymous, his explanation concurred with that of HTB Board President, Tiffanie Fisher.  Fisher told GA:
"Ravi's old building - Constitution - last week passed a temporary rule to allow canvassing with a resident.  A Ravi supporter emailed a request to our property manager asking for approval to canvass with Ravi and the Mayor.  She then sent an email to our board of 7..... I then sent an email to the entire HTB board saying that the constitution board just passed a rule allowing it.  And supported doing so at HTB.  [Board member] said he was supportive as well if it was an opt in system.  Like Constitution. Three board members initially said no.  Ultimately 5 said yes - one changed his mind - with opt in.   Our manager sent out an email.  By  the next morning, our manager emailed the board and said she received 30 complaints and no one supporting it.  She also spoke to the manager at constitution who said they received a lot of complaints and little support there.  The board then reversed the decision.

Also - I know that both Ravi and Romano have been in the building.  Not sure if DeFusco.  Whether knocking or dropping literature. "
There you go, people.

Shall we make things more complicated?  A lawyer who read this post emailed me that "the board of the Tea Building (or any other condo building) cannot issue a blanket non solicitation edict." If that is true, it is an issue that impacts every condo building in Hoboken. Stay tuned people

Original post

A bemused Hudson Tea Building resident contacted GA about its Board's 24-hour flip-flop- from allowing canvassing within the building, to banning it ("violators may be subject to fines").

That is, the Tea Building's Board issued a thoughtfully-crafted set of rules allowing political canvassing at 12:20 PM on Thursday, October 19,  then rescinded it the following morning.  What happened?
"what I believe set this off was a resident of HTB went around with Ravi handouts and rang doorbells a few weeks ago which clearly pissed off someone as it violated our existing rules, but then started the discussion of should it be allowed like other buildings supposedly allow in Hoboken....  I do not know what happened here, but I am LMAO at the about face. There are two board members that I know of whom are on Jen's team (Tiffanie and [redacted].)  I have no idea if this was their idea but I suspect it was by the rejection after the fact that it might have been...There seems to be a faction of residents pro-Zimmer/Ravi who are not happy with Tiffanie on the board and I suspect gave them a hard time after the fact, but this is complete speculation on my part."
Of course, any private residential building is allowed to set policy on a third party's access to it's residents- be it a political campaign or an encyclopedia salesman. But one assumes that the Board arrived at these rules permitting canvassing after meeting with building residents and based on a general consensus.

Additionally, the rules allowed an "opt-out" in consideration of residents who did not want to have canvassers ring their doorbell.  So what went wrong?

As my Tea Building source said, the President of the board is Giattino for Mayor co-chair, Tiffanie Fisher and another board member is an ardent supporter.

Was the board, headed by Fisher, pushing this policy to favor Giattino, against the wishes of Tea Building residents?

Well political people, now you know to STAY OUT of the Hudson Tea Building!

  1. it appears the residents of HTB are a lot more openminded than "tiff" would like in regards to supporting an "unelectable" candidate who hoboken is "not ready for". team jen seems awfully nervous. why would they reverse this decision if they weren't scared of the competition? so much for the "grassroots groundswell".

    resist this.

  2. I think it's a shame that the building put the kabash on canvassing; however, I love all the speculation as to why...especially when Tiffanie isn't even around.

    1. EXACTLY! Our campaign spokesmodel even now is aboard an inter-galactic spacecraft with no idea what is happening at the Tea Building, no ability to find out, and no possible means of doing anything about it! None at all!

  3. I think I've seen more public statements from Tiffanie Fisher than Jen Giattino this election. Makes you wonder who really wanted to run.

    1. Well not like Jen had a reason to run so her silence is rather understandable. Plus, the more she opens her moth, the more folks realize she is an empty vessel.

    2. Yes, "Jen", the Republican, never seems to come forward to speak for herself. "Tiff" is the Puppet Master, pulling all the strings for a REPUBLICAN candidate while serving as the Chair for the Hoboken DEMOCRATIC Committee. This stuff is so bizarre you couldn't make it up!

    3. P.S. Hey "Jen"remind us why exactly you're running...in your own words, PLEASE!

    4. #4thPlaceJenn made a strong twitter statement with the video of her son shooting a basket. It was a very bold statement to make so late in her campaign, but I think she is standing by it!

  4. We are receiving a number of pointed questions about our Team GiaFusco Reform Resistance Corporate Website.

It has not gone unnoticed that we now appear to have known for a very long time that the current mayor was incredibly incompetent and Unelectable was incredibly corrupt and taking money under the table. So the questioning has been what did we know and when did we know it. When did we discover that these two felons were, well, felons? Why didn't we alert the proper authorities? Why did we keep it to ourselves so long? Why did we keep lying to our paying subscribers? Shouldn't we have said something about The Condon Affair? Why didn't we place blame directly where it belonged for The Monarch Affair? Was there a cover-up at the Team GiaFusco Reform Resistance Corporate Website? Remember: the cover-up is always worse than the crime. Why didn't we come out and say that Zimmer was worse than Roberts and Bhalla was an antifa-coddling socialist when quite obviously we knew it?

We have a long written, searchable record out there where our opinion appears to be 180 degrees from where it is today. How do we explain it? What did we know and when did we know it, indeed!

We have our Department of Gaslighting working on it now. We already used the "hackers working for Hillary Clinton, Jon Podesta, Antifa, George Soros and Unelectable" thing like eight times to explain our seemingly sudden yet backdated contempt for this administration and Unelectable. So we want to come up with something new for this one. Stay tuned.

  6. Tiffanie really wants to be Mayor. It will never happen. It’s amazing how many people she’s alienated in her fight to support the spineless Republican, Jen Giattino.
