  1. This statement should be taken to exclude the one she advertises in. Just as talk should be taken to be cheap.

  2. The downfall of this site and its owner is tragic and probably permanent. Other than Tony, Roman, Kurt and the occasional tormentor just showing up to screw with them, the entire former community of commenter has all but disappeared. I'm pretty sure GreenGropher used to show up as a substantiator of Roman's observations, then he/she turned into a disprover and the sharpest critic, now he/she's pretty much gone, treating the obvious mental case as a lost cause. A lot of sharper commenters like RedRaven, khoboken, bludiamonds, plywood and others I can't even remember the exact names of faded away after the SLAPP suit, an unfortunate side effect, but there was still enough of a community around the site to keep things interesting. Now, even people like FAP and the amusingly named Mr. Balsacci, who generally agree with Roman on a broad range of topics, appear to be shaking their heads in disbelief.

It's really, really sad. But you know what? Roman's various (and obvious) handles on places like HCV and HR serve as a window into the nooks and crannies of his psyche, and the harsh reality is, the more I learn about him, the more I come to the conclusion that he's a pretty rotten excuse for a human being, and Reform is well rid of him. That's my opinion, at least.

    1. I'm totally confused, somethingburger...did you mean this post for the very foul horse stable that traffics in hateful histrionics and innuendo?

    2. Yes, sorry for the lack of clarity. I was referring to the site/blogger being hilariously mocked in the above graphic. GA is holding it down for the good guys/gals, the last line of defense against crooks, spoilers and crooked spoilers. I'm just marveling at the folks I've seen generally in lockstep with Roman on his site and other venues on both local and national politics now washing their hands of him. Really says something.

    3. the saddest part is one can support candidate A without attacking/demonizing candidate B. i don't expect everyone to agree with my choices, and totally respect anyone who sensibly puts forth reasons why they think their candidate is a better choice than mine. why was it so difficult to just be a normal, rational person and discuss things like an adult?

but no. for whatever reason, it had to get all nutty and "steve bannon mini-me", with every over-the-top attack getting more insane and vicious. i stopped commenting a year ago after trump's victory, and stopped visiting all together about 8 months ago. all the nutty pizzagate-level conspiracy theory posts made me feel a little dirty, but then it just became a waste of time where he was writing 1,000+-word posts that essentially said nothing, just a bunch of repeated generalities. maybe he had nothing to say but was compelled to post a few things every day to try and maintain traffic, so he just became a gasbag.

i still can't determine if he realizes all this, or if he actually blind to it and actually believes in all that he's said and done. self-reflection isn't everyone's strong suit.

  3. Speaking of reduxes, Beth finally de-snarked her wiki page. The wise-cracks about her "unsubstantiated claims" and political failures are gone. It's now pure pablum with a nice treacle glaze. But as long as she isn't running for anything, her silly claims of being highly educated and a giant of Madison Ave are just the harmless vanities of age.

    1. An unconfirmed rumor I heard some weeks back was that Mason made a deal to buy out a partner on the Hudson Reporter "in June" and was waiting 6 months to go public. Who knows.

    2. Another hapless lottery winner buying expensive garbage to feel important. She hasn't got an original thought in her head or an interesting bone in her body. But, again, harmless.
